Good morning, all. Stars, I am so glad your trip went relatively smoothly for you and your pup. What a little rascal for escaping! My little girl dog will run and completely ignore calls to come back, so I know that panic. I hope you can take a few days to decompress.

I had a productive day yesterday. Accompanied sis to her routine PCP visit, and reminded to report a concerning symptom. She gets caught up on being social and forgets the reason for the visit. Came home, and finished the newsletter and creating a few flyers and sent them off. And got some gardening done. Then off to a foundation board meeting where we got to spend some of the money we raised at the big plant sale.

Today, I really need to get some inside cleaning done. The day is cool and overcast, so I don't have the sunshine beckoning me to come out and play.

I got my new room straightened up and some of my clothes hung up. Distributed toiletries (such a silly word!) to the bathroom, remade the bed, unloaded the sturdy grocery store bags w/ handles, found a temporary place for my socks and undies until the POD brings my little dresser. Discovered the remote control for the TV in my room, and figured out how to use it. They have a lot of the subscription options, like Netflix, prime video, Disney, and Peacock. So maybe if and when I am inclined I might find a movie. I'm glad to find ABC's WORLD NEWS TONIGHT which I usually watch. Kind of weird sampling various local news's because I don't really know much of the area, except we are South of Jacksonville. I will prolly bring some more things in from my car tomorrow, but no rush. Now I am dreading the arrival of the POD, because, OMG, where am I going to put things? I will be glad to get my OWN BED here, though. At least I didn't fall out of bed last night!

I'll have to go out to the store tomorrow to get my drink of choice which is Schweppe's ginger ale; I am consuming the last bottle.

I just finished my supper, which was two different salads made up by 'the niece' before she left to go back home to somewhere in Georgia. She said she comes around every three to four weeks to visit for 4-5 days, and she gave me her phone # to put in my cellphone "in case something comes up" (Uh-oh! I hope nothing does! But, it's good of her to make sure we can stay in touch!) It's not like my friends are my private duty patients, because they are actually pretty independent, thank goodness, in spite of their physical problems, and at least they have BRAINS and are used to looking after themselves!! I have just been so used to looking out for someone else, that it is nice NOT to have to concern myself the way I had to with She-whose-name-shall-not-be-mentioned!. Oh, and when the Home Health PT came today for J's knee follow-up, when he found out I was a Home Health nurse for so long, he said I should come and sign up with his company! I said, "Oh no, no, no! I am most DEFINITELY RETIRED!"

Out back in the 'river' (pond, I say!) there are 3-5 Muscovy ducks that Tinker finds interesting, and a smallish heron-like white bird that hangs around with those ducks all the time. Maybe it was adopted?

So, I guess I will scroll around on the TV, since I don't happen to have any of my crossword puzzle books to occupy me. It seemed like a thunderstorm was blowing up a while ago, but I see on the weather report that it is west and going north and then northeast of us. Nice of it to loan the wind to blow away the humidity, anyway!

I will be continuing on with enjoying my NEW LIFE!

My late Caesar would get out of the gate in the back yard and when I had a fenced in pen built, I specified there are little dogs so they would not make spaces, they never got out. The only dog that gave me problems was when Billy would dig under the fence. Ellie and Slow Bro couldn't stand leaving the comfort of their home. Waffles escaped once but because I left the door open and a good Samaritan neighbor kept her and called the number on her tag and they got ahold of me. Caesar jumped out after another dog out of my car once but luckily he was the kind that stopped dead in his tracks when I yelled at him to stop.

Anyway, I survived week 3 of 6 scheduled overtime weeks. BP is high tonight so I must be tired. They floated a nurse again. I to the staffer "fully staffed" means extra nurse to float because they did that every fully staffed day to me for weeks.

Well, I just finished watching a movie ..... "Remarkably Light Creatures" My gosh, I was totally immersed in it. What a beautiful story, and so well done. It was like I almost could sink into the TV screen and feel like I was right there while it was happening. Amazing. Satisfying. Peaceful. Wow.
