FNP to specializing ?

Hey all,

I am a FNP with experience in urgent care. Emergency medicine and adolescent health. I took the last few years off for personal reasons and am looking forward to getting back to work. I always wanted to specialize and become an “expert” in a field.  I was thinking of wound care or diabetes.   Would the best route to specialization be getting a certificate in wound care or diabetes? Still in the contemplation phase.  Any recommendation? Advice? I feel like my resume will automatically be passed on based on my experience.

TIA

I honestly think wound care is better. Specialty pharmacists do all of our diabetes management and I think wound care is hotly in demand plus sort of cool. DM is kinda dull and pretty algorithmic.

get a job in said field is the best way
