Indeed they are and it's because they are the cheapest damned company around! If they don't change soon, the patients WILL catch on and go to the competition!

I am a dialysis nurse recruiter and have noticed that FMC is actually starting to catch on to the fact that there is nothing wrong with using outside companies (like the one I work for :)) to help with their staffing needs.
I agree at one point they were and still are understaffed. I encourage you all to mention the fact that their are many options as far as staffing. We even provided dialysis experienced travelling nurses that can be utilized while finding permenant staff or training RN's from other nursing fields. :)
Good Luck!

That would be nice IF they would DO it. They are not understaffed due to lack of available and permanent nurses. They are understaffed due to a silly, nonrealistic "staffing module" the clinical mgrs. are to follow.
As always, those who propose these "modules", have never worked the floor.
We would be appropriately staffed IF we were allowed to HIRE...:stone

FMC took over our acute unit about two years ago, it's been a nightmare!!!! Staffing isn't the only problem!!!!
Actually, we give VERY good care. Our labs are consistently top notch. But it's due to the dedication of the small handful of staff we have.. and who have been there for 10+ years. Who go above and beyond because we truly care about our patients. It is NOT because FMC cares for/about them.. or us. :stone
