FIU Generic BSN 2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone!

I saw that there hasn't been a forum made yet for the Generic fall 2022 nursing program for FIU and decided to create one! I am in the middle of the application process and I am still studying for my TEAS. Any tips?

Hi!

I'll also be applying, and I am studying for the TEAS right now as well. I am using the study guide and the two practice tests ATI gives.

That’s good to hear! I’m so nervous to take it, I hear you have to get a pretty high score to be accepted, it’s so competitive.

Have you done any volunteer hours for your application?

I'm so nervous too ? I was reading the previous forums, and they said if you score above an 85, then you should be fine as long as your GPA is above 3.75.  And yeah, I have 100 hours so far. I am trying to get above 200 before I apply.

Do you know if the volunteer hours has to be related to the medical field or if it can be any type of service hours?

Honestly, I'm not sure, but I would assume it has to be medical related in some way.

Oh, okay, because I've done some hours that aren't medical-related and I'm not sure if they're going to accept it, especially since it's still difficult to volunteer at a hospital with the pandemic and all.

I'm sure you will be fine. I've heard of people who got accepted without any volunteer hours. But, I would still put those hours you did on your application just in case they do accept them.

I am on the same boat. I scored an 88 on the TEAS and a 3.6 sGPA

I also have about 250 volunteer hours (not medical related).

Hope that is good enough to get in though *bites nails*

Wow! That’s great! I still have yet to take the TEAS, how was it?

I’ve heard that in the science portion, mainly with anatomy and physiology, it’s usually just the basics of all the body systems, is that true?

Good luck to all of you.  I have taken the TEAS (85) is my score am currently in MDC and was thinking to apply to fiu as well.  Are any of you in MDC and applying to fiu?  If yes, why not MDC?  I'm not sure if I need to have my AA in order to transfer out?Any imput will be helpful.

Hey guyss, I just finished by TEAS exam and scored an 88%, I honestly think you guys should use the Mometrix secrets book and NurseHub since that helped me a lot. Also of anyone has information bout the hours I would appreciate it :)
