I got a call today after sending out probably 50 applications. The job is on an ortho unit at the hospital I did most of my clinicals at. I am SUPER nervous, really scared I'm going to get a question that stumps me. I really hope I get this. I did 2 make up days on this unit during clinical and I loved it. Fingers crolsed!

How exciting! Hope it went well.
I think it went pretty well. The unit has precepted a bunch of new grads before, so it sounds like I'll get a good orientation if I'm offered the job. Plus it helps that one of my CI's who wrote a letter of reccomendation for me worked on that unit for 15 years and knows the manager really well. Definitely left my letters and name dropped in the interview. Hope it works in my favor. He said they are looking to make a quick decision so I should know soon!

sounds like you got this one in the bag! hope you get some great news soon!
So I got an email today from the nurse manager of the floor saying they have hit some delays in the hiring process????? I am wondering if that's a good or bad thing? I have a contact through my dad who is ICU manager of a different hospital and has worked there for EONS. She's sort of my go to person with job hunting questions. She said esp with my letter of reccomendation from my CI that worked on that floor AND its a nights position (not a whole lot of internal applicants chomping at the bit for a night position) it sounds good but you just cant be sure. She basically has told me every time I've talked to her "just keep hanging in there" I've applied to TONS of positions with this hospital (mostly med/surg, some tele) b/c I did praticallly all my clinicals there and am comfortable with the facility. Hope that doesn't look bad on me. If all else fails, the hospital my contact works for is hiring new grads in Aug and she said she'd put in a good word for me. She's very well known in the hospital, esp among the nurse educators there. I don't know HER super well, but she has known my dad over 20 years.
