First the excitement of being accepted......

...and now freaking out over all the stuff I need to get in order before Jan. 2009!

Hi all...I just got accepted to Thomas Jefferson Univ. in Phila, PA...very excited!! It was the only school I applied to, and my first choice obviously.

I'm coming to all of you to asks questions about school loans/personal loans. I know there is a wealth of information on this site, not to mention a sticky on SPECIFICALLY loan stuff. But what I want to know is....WHERE DO I EVEN START!?

Would love to hear from people who are in a similar situation as I am....I'm 25, not married and no kids. My biggest bills during school will basically be rent, credit cards (that Im going to try to get paid down as much as I can) cell phone, utilities, and other general costs of living from week to week. My car will be paid off right around the time I start school thank god.

Help!! :)

Start by filling out the FAFSA for all your fin aid. You need to check on your schools deadline

As mentioned above FAFSA. Figure out how much money you will need to live on top of tuition and books, and get the money in order. If you know geographically where you want to live after school you might want to look into stipends for extra cash. Although, I would try and avoid that because of your unencumbered status and the ability to move after school.

Read "watchful care" get it at http://www.aana.com and take a look at baby miller "Basics of Anesthesia", see if you need a laptop or pda. If you can work OT and pay cash for a lot of stuff like this it will save on loan amounts. It seems like a lot of this stuff just starts to add up and you end up getting nickled and dimed to death.

Enjoy the time you have now and the fact that you got into school!!! Oh ya plan a vacation.

Congrats and GL!

Yea I figured that was the first thing I should do....how soon can I do that? I start in Jan 2009..

Hi I am anticipating applying for the program in the same school, can you please inform me about the application and interview process. It will be of great help. Thanks.

Congratulations!!!!!!! How was the interview?

Congratulations!

Call your school's financial aid department, someone there should specialize in graduate programs. I would apply for the FAFSA now, you can do so online. You can begin applying for alternative loans 3 months prior to needing the money. You can apply earlier to see if (and how much) you can qualify for on your own. The interest rate might not be pretty without a cosigner.

There are free sites online that will help you make a budget.

Good Luck

Anyone accepted to Upenn's CRNA program to start in May 09'???
