Hi guys,
This is my first post, happy to be here .After finishing prerequisites I am starting my nursing school in august, I really like the medical feild and love to be a nurse. I heard from my peers that nursing school is challenging, I am afraid whether I have what it takes passing with good grades from nursing school. Do good nurses have above average intelligence? Simply, what it takes to be a good nurse? THANKS

I'm not a nurse yet but from what I've been told nursing school takes perseverance, dedication and hard work. Don't worry you can do it.:)

Congratulations
I just recently finished up my pre reqs also, but im going to OTA school starting May 1st. I think to make it through nursing school you got to work hard and study hard. I have a few friends in nursing school and I know they are busting their butts with studying to get through it and it's working. Be dedicated to it and work hard and im sure you will be fine.

When I attended LPN school a few years back, even though it was only a class of 7 people, there was not one of us that did not have to deal with something life changing. It truely does take dedication and hard work but it is well worth it. Anything worth having you have to work for. As far as intelligence goes, it's not a matter of IQ. If you work hard you can accomplish anything you set out to do and the really good nurses aren't necessarily the ones who made the good grades. Good nurses are the one's that really care for their patients and take the time to make them feel like they are the number one priority. Good luck with your education and keep us posted.

Student nurse06,
Do not be afraid from what others are telling you. Start with a positive attitude that you will pass. Dont say you dont have what it takes to pass. When you do that, you already telling yourself you are failure and possibly wont make it if you think like that. You can do all things through Christ. He is the one who will give you the strenght to make it. It does not matter how challenging nursing is. If you are dedicate, study hard and seek help when you are struggling, you will be fine. If any person can make it, so can you!
Good luck to you!
