feeling stupid

I want to hear it from any of you. I worked so hard and have all A's on my pre reqs , took the hesi and scored an overall 80%. However I didn't get accepted into the RN program. I was placed on the alternate list. I feel worthless and like a total loser. My neighbor got in, my co- worker got in but not me

I have been waiting for this moment forever and now it's a NO!

Any of you have this happen and turn out good? Get accepted last minute. I am applying to a school that is an hour away. I'm ready to get my RN. It's my time. I feel like the school picks who they know and recall . Maybe I irritated them with my emails or calls. I don't know but I sure do feel like a total idiot.

I have no experience in this but I know many people who do. It often times takes YEARS to get into an RN program. How many programs have you applied at? Dont be discouraged, it may just take some time to get accepted

I applied to 3 different schools, got put on the alternate list one year & when I *finally* got accepted last summer I was pregnant & in my last trimester so I had to turn down the acceptance.

Don't worry, your acceptance will come. I know it seems unfair but sometimes it takes awhile before you get in.

I literally only applied to this particular school. This is the school I received my LPN from and am very comfortable and confident with the school, instructors and just everything about it. However now that I have been placed on the alternate list I am applying to another school but that's an hour drive. I guess I'll bite the bullet and do whatever I need to do to gain my dream.

Thank you for replying . I'm hopeful that maybe just maybe I'll get the last minute call to join the program. I feel like I'm second best but I'm still hopeful. Fingers crossed.

I applied to the same school I went to for my LVN but didn't get in (my TEAS score was too low & back then I could only take the TEAS test once). I'm thankful I didn't get in because their NCLEX pass rate for their RN program is in the 70s & they aren't accredited. So it was a blessing in disguise.

The other program I am going to apply to is an hour away. But It will be worth it.

It depends on how low you are on the list. I've heard that they actually go through the lists rather quickly, because people drop out, or don't sign up in time. Don't be upset just yet. =)

There's no such thing as "second best" when you have a degree. =)

I can understand that you are discouraged but take heart, like some others said some people may change their minds before classes even start. We lost four people before the first day so you could still get in. Hang in there. :D

I finished with all of my pre reqs in 2007 with good grades. Was on MDC's waiting list and didn't get in. In 2010 I went to a technical school for my LPN and finally I just begun the bridge program in Spring, 2015. If you really believe this is what you want then don't give up. The funny part for me is now I don't even think I like nursing. Oh and did I mention I was in a medical magnet program in high school where we did CNA work, and my mom is a nurse, so I knew of what all it took but.... Just keep trying and apply to different schools.

GOOD LUCK!!!
