hello to all. i am the wife of the owner of this name (mattiya1326). he told me that he posted my story about my NCLEX experience.
it really felt so bad when i found out that i did not pass. the computer stopped at 75 and when i went out of the room i was a bit confident that i answered all the questions correctly. well many of us may feel that way especially if you are really prepared.
its been a week when i received the bad news but until now iam still in the process of recovering. there are still sleepless nights and sometimes tears will just flow into my face.
my husband told me to start reviewing again but until now i dont even want to open all the books that i read because i thought it did not help. he told me that he will buy new review books like kaplan and other books that i have not read.
what should i do to regain my confidence? what do i need to do to bring back my interest. i know that only me can answer that but i hope with your advice help encouragement it will not be long enough.
thank you all and God bless

I know how you feel, I also got 75 questions and failed and felt like the dumbest person alive. It took me about a week and I got back to studying. I am doing Suzanne's plan, it appears to work, there are a lot of success stories.
I know it's hard but you have to jump back in here, you can do it, if you couldn't you would not have passed nursing school. Now, I realize the nclex does not define me as a person or a nurse. It just a test that we have to pass and we can do it. My prayers are with you.

Please don't feel bad, normal reaction to feel as you do. Give yourself a little break from studying and then if you want to go the route, try Suzanne's plan and start again by following the instructions her thread. Just hang in there and don't give up
Good luck

I agree. And if you are financially able to do so, go someplace that you know will make you feel good, or even if you aren't, how about just doing something you enjoy? It's good for all of us to take a break once in a while. It does regenerate us.
I remember when I was in school, and I was extremely stressed out, and felt like my brain had drained completely. My daughter gave me a video I had wanted to watch, and told me to take a break from everything that night. I knew I couldn't for long, because I was still in nursing school. But just that one night away from everything did the trick, and I was ready to go back to my studying and my homework.
By the way, my NCLEX focused mostly on lab values, diseases, and what the lab values diagnosed. The machine shut off at 75, and I too felt like I had failed. However, I was overjoyed when I learned I passed.
But the very best thing you can do for yourself now is give yourself a break. It will do you a lot of good. I went to see my daughter in VA for a week after I graduated, and I'm glad I did, because I was ready to go at it again.
I will also pray for you if you would like. Here Iya:icon_hug::heartbeat Hope all this helps.

I agree that you need to take a break. At this point you still are upset about failing so starting to study will not help b/c you're not in a good state of mind. Take a break and when you get your confidence back start studying again.

hi i am writing to let you know that i to have failed the nclex 8 times and currently trying to prepare again to go for it again. I have been passing in every section ,half above and half near in my results every time but not enough to get the results i passed. so i know how you feel. You have to be confident and say to yourself that if i can get through nursing school i can get through this test. Remember that no one can take your nursing degree from you. It is just a test, you do need it to practice of course, but you ca't let it keep you down. You have to get back into the game and just do it.That's what i keep saying to myself and don't think you don't know what you are doing because you do you got through school. I have taken the kaplan, nclex 3500, and my notes. They all helped me to reveiw kaplan the best i feel.I have a hard time trying to figure out what the question is really asking and i look into it to much, so i am trying to fix that problem now. Well i wish you the best of luck in the world if you need any tips let me know. God bless and keep your head up if i can you can. It will get better.:nuke:

Mattiya, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't pass. I know how you feel. Don't feel bad, Take few days to recover then start again. I'm very sure you can do it. I have 2 kids (5 and 1). I took Nclex-Rn 4 times. I found out that I passed this Saturday. I never loosed hope. Every time I failed I took a week break then started again. I used Suzanne's plan , PDA and Kaplan Qbank($299). I did 100 questions every day and all rationales. Saunders is a very good book for contents, PDA helped me with priorty questions and Kaplan has critical thinking questions. Don't give up, practice, paractice, practice and take it again
