Fall 2010 - BMCC Nursing Program

:anbd:I'm wondering if anyone applied to the Nursing program for the Fall 2010 at BMCC. Has anyone received an acceptance call?

It's been a long time since we last communicated! Do you know when they will start calling for the Fall program? I'm going to start applying for the Spring 2011 program in October but will try to change my status from liberal arts to pre-nursing this month.

Hey bilis,

I spoke to the department yesterday and they said they had still not made their picks and the calls should be going out end of this week into the beginning of next week. I applied for the evening/weekend program for Fall 2010. Good luck. I just keep staring at my cellphone willing it to ring.

Hey Bilis,

I applied to the day program for the fall, so I am also waiting for a call. I read in a previous post that the calls are usually made in alphabetical order, so I will probably get a call next week.

As soon as I get a call I will post to let you know.

@dee - good luck to you! i'm sure you've done your homework and have all the requirements by now. it's a shame it takes a while to understand the ropes. i'm awaiting response from my application and chewing off my finger nails. anyhow, will let you know if i'm in or out. take care.

@nycwonder1 - i hear you...it's nerve wrecking. i also applied for the evening/weekend program. i hope and crossing my fingers i get accepted as this program is very competitive. good luck to you.

Hey,

Spoke to the Nursing Dept. again today and now it is looking like next week the calls will go out. I know they are sick of hearing from me but I am sick of waiting. The suspense might actually kill me. I don't think they understand how nerve wracking this waiting is.

Hey bilis,

I hear they only go into your general GPA if it starts to get real close between the students just using the pre req GPA. I don't know how true that is but it is what I heard. Like we need something else to worry about.

From what I've heard, both morning and evening programs still look at the 4 Preclinical GPAs first and uses the general GPA if there's a need to break-in ties (such as everybody getting 4.0). I called the nursing dept last week and asked the current GPA cut-off. She mentioned 3.86 for both morning and evening. That's too freakin high! :eek:

That cutoff is for the 4 pre reqs right? And yeah that is crazy high. I guess Monday we can all begin phone watching again.

OMG!!! totally blown away, seems every semester it gets more and more rigid. Did any of you guys applied (or will apply) to other nursing programs just in case?

Congratulations!! :yeah:Let us know how they do orientations and stuff. By the way, can I ask what's your preclinical GPA (4 preclinical requirements) and your overall GPA? When did you apply for the program too?
