Nursing Students NCLEX

I failed my NCLEX the first time in 75 questions. I didn't even know that was possible. I am really struggling on how to study to take it again. I did not like UWorld personally. I felt I was exhausted after 40 questions. It just didn't work for me. Anyone have any advice on studying???? Please and thank you

Hi! New nurse here ? I took my NCLEX late June and failed. Did the whole 145 questions and got the result the next day. I was DESTROYED. I had to postpone my start date and everything. However, I retook it in august and passed in 92 questions! Even with that bump in the road, getting to your goal is still possible and you will still be an awesome nurse!! First thing is to tell yourself you gave it a good go and you tried your best. Mindset is one of the most important things. Confidence and believing in yourself can make a huge difference. Imagine yourself being a RN, having that title, and being so happy and proud you got it after working so hard! Tell yourself positive things and really hype yourself up!! You deserve it, nursing school is hard and you are just a few questions away from your license. Now go back over your strategy when taking the exam. Did you rush or go to slowly to the point you were overthinking too much? Make sure you take your breaks, drinks some water or eat, etc. cause that can help, just stepping outside the room and telling yourself everything is OK and you're doing fine can help. Take deep breaths, remind yourself you can do it, and stay focused! In regard to questions, I found ATI and Nursing Mastery the most helpful, ATI for learning how to answer questions and nursing mastery for content and information. I retook them over and over, getting a lot wrong or just answered too quickly or second guessed. Once I slowed down and read the question carefully, I realized I missed important words in the questions and was able to identify correct answers more accurately! Practice answering questions in a certain way, mainly priority or what applies best. Get rid of answers that are not relevant or are not the best option. The most helpful information for practice tests and feeling confident I got from professors was memorizing ABCs, prioritization, lab values and what too high or low caused, and no second guessing!  Study for 2-3 hours a day if you can, take breaks, and enjoy the process ? learning this information is hard but it's rewarding and it'll pay off. You can do it!

I took my NCLEX just a few hours ago today! My test stopped at 75 and I am so nervous. I got the good popup using the pearson cue trick, but I still do not trust it. I am so anxious!!

I used archer and liked it a lot.  I took the pretest and then focused on the videos in areas I where I knew I was weak.  I took 2-3 more “readiness” exams within archer before taking my NCLEX, and I went into it feeling pretty confident, which I’m sure helped.

You got this!

@FiremedicMike thanks for the feedback Hun. I just bought Archer a few days ago and plan on starting it next week on Monday. I did so bad so I am just super worried.

Hello,

to the ones that had to retake the exam. Did you register to Pearson right away and not contacting you BON for retaking the exam? because they said I have to contact my BON. But I went and registered again and paid $200 , I also sent an email to BON that I am retaking my NCLEX RN
