I am currently back in school to finish my pre-reqs for nursing...all I have left to take are both the anatomy 210 and 211 and micro..I know these are the hardest of the the pre-req's..Obviously I can't take 210 and 211 together so I'm taking them separate semesters...Anyway, I need to add another class to my 210 for this fall because I want to be considered at least half time since I'm getting financial aid. I signed up to take basic pharmacology and the thought this might be helpful in learning for nursing...Any thoughts about this class? I really don't want to take a really heavy course extra with the anatomy course. Thanks!

Hello, I would definately select a course that is "easy" when taking A&P. You can plan on devoting an additional 10+ hours of studying to A&P a week so an additional class should be light. Best of luck!

I'm going to take medical terminology this semester and I think it'll be helpful even though I don't need it for my degree. You could also consider a math med course.

Well this post just made me a little nervous. My classes this semester are A&P I, A&P lab, Chem, Chem Lab, College Algebra, and Eng Comp

those are all classes that require serious dedicated studying time. It is doable if you have very little going on with your life
I'm not too nervous about it I know I can do it. I will be working about 20 hours per week and have a little one who will turn 10 right before I start. I've already started studying anything I can find, but just not sure what to study the most so just studying everything

My school has Spanish for Medical field. That is nursing related but would be relatively light. It is one I am probably going to do if it takes an extra year to get into nursing program.

I had an adviser tell me not to take any of my sciences together b/c of how hard they are. It would have taken me over a year to complete from that point before I could even apply and then play the six month waiting game for getting accepted. Instead, I doubled up and had no problem. Not b/c I am so smart, but b/c I studied a lot. If you are not the type of student who enjoys a lot of study then you are in trouble. How hard it is is usually relative to whether or not you put the time in.
I have already told family and friends not to plan to hear from me much. My current plan is to work for 1.5 hrs before class each morning, and then in between my classes. I will be home from school & work by 5PM each day. I do home health so I am lucky enough to be able to do visits just between classes. Studying doesn't bother me as I said I have already started to study as much as I can. I know the advisor that was with the girl behind me told her not to take them together and she was a younger girl just out of high school. I looked at my advisor and said am I going to be ok. She said you have been out of school 11 years, your test scores were high, and that tells me you studied for this test. I said yes that is correct I did, because I knew I didn't remember all of this stuff. She said you will be fine. I wanted classes that would help me get into the program, and if that is what it takes to get in then I am going to do it. If I find out the amount of work I am planning to do is too much then so be it I can work less.
