excelsior question

Published

I am making application to excelsior now, but it will take 2-3 weeks to get the results. if I don't enroll does it mean I will never know which pre required courses I still need to take? If my understanding is right, I have to first enroll to get all my transcripts reviewed and get to know what con I have to take .

I know I can take con 1,2 during the waiting time, but how can I get to know the guideline of concept 3 before enrollment? I plan to prepare 1,2,3 before enrollment. Is it possible?

Singlelife,

Take them one at a time. If you are studying adequately, it will likely take several weeks before you're ready to take NC3.

I'm writing this from recall, so double check what I tell you.

I remember applying and paying the application fee. This was when EC checked my transcripts and told me what classes were accepted by them and which ones I still needed to take. You can take your prerequisites, NC1 and NC2 prior to enrolling. Once you enroll, then you may obtain the ATT letter to test for NC3. You can still get the content guide for NC3 and study for it - you cannot test for NC3 without enrolling which will take a few weeks.

After submitting your application and the $65.00, EC will give a pre-assessment of your transcripts. They say it isn't official, but will give you a good idea of what is needed. Also, they have made Nursing Concepts 2 exempt for all LPN/LVNs with a current license. Good luck, try to stay focused, just one test at a time.

It's not official now? They used to call that an official transcript review, where they would tell you the exact courses you need to take and then apply the money you paid for the transcript review towards your enrollment.

I talked to an admissions counselor today and they told me it was $75 to apply and have them review your transcripts, tell you what to take, etc. They didn't say anything about the money going towards the enrollment fee though.

Does it mean the pre-assessment ( unofficial evaluation) costs $65? And I have to pay another payment to let tlhem tell me exactly which course I need to take?

Another question I want to know is where can I get the study guidelines before enrollment for con 3 since they only offer con 1-2 on their web?

How long did you get your pre-assesment done? Definitely 2-3 weeks? No less than that? I really want to study immediately but worried about if I am qualified now.

You can find all of the NC content guides on their website for free.

Thank you ,but I checked again and only found the content guide for con 1-2 in the schoold of nursing catalog. Can you say in detail how can I find it?

thanks a lot.

Ok, I finally found it. Thank you so much. But since I still didn't enroll, I could not open study buddy. I really want to know if someone is in NYC studying con1 now.
