Excelsior Grads...

Published

Hi there. I have many questions:

1. Just passed my nursing concepts and am about to apply for the CPNE. I got this big book from the Excelsior but could not find an application form for the test. There was a FACTS sheet, the workshop forms, but no application form. May sound stupid, but where is the application form? No online form?

2. What is the CPNE workshop the most recommended one to attend? I saw CHEEDUDCATion (San Jose, CA), Lynn's Workshop and INdiana's workshope, and of course, Excelsior.

3. Anyone out in MD taking the CPNE?

Moved to the Distance Learning Forum for more responses.

Thanks Eric, I am new to posting threads. Appreciate the help.

I too did not have an application in my study guide. I e-mailed the school asking about it and requesting one. What is the since of having a study guide sent early if there is no application. Sort of ironic :)

I couldn't get a study guide until I had applied to take the CPNE, so I don't know what to tell you. EC sent me an application package once I was eligible. You must have 21 of the 31 required general ed credits done and all of the NC 1-7 done before you can apply for the CPNE.

You will need to prove that all your vaccinations are current. You might go ahead and either get those or find your records. You will have to get a background check and a physical. There is a specific sheet in the application package for your doctor to fill out. They will give you instructions on getting the background check.

I called Excelsior yesterday to clarify the application form and where it is. It is in UNIT 2. And the advisor told me to go ahead and mail whatever you can-and just make a note of what other forms need to follow (I still have to get a criminal background check, a health status exam and a CPR certification).
