  1. Hi-thought about attending Lynne's workshop, but can't take time off anymore. I enrolled for the EC workshop-and that's in the middle of the week, so that is already 1 week off work. Other people say EC workshop is a better one to attend since they practice you for the actual tests too. When are you taking the NC 5 exam?
  2. Hi-yes I am waiting to take it in July 2007. You really need to finish it b/c we have to graduate by Dec 2007-meaning pass the CPNE too. The MD BON will not accredit Excelsior after that...something to do prob w/ the no. f clinical hours we have. That's why when I found out this year 2 months ago...I studied like there was no tomorrow, having no choice but to pass all of the NC exams. I can help you study if you want. What review materials do you have? I have the College Network and Lisa Arends (from EBAY)...both very good reviewers.
  3. Hi guys, don't know where that profile came from. I don't want to mislead anyone. But, I want a second career...more with patient care. I have a lot of nurse friends who fill me in...and I think it is a great profession. They let me watch them at work and I love it! I will look into those reference materials...Carpenito's right?
  4. Hi there mudwoman...I have clinical experience in another medical related field (pharmacy), but not nursing.
  5. Mudwoman, I read about your experiences in this forum w/ regards to the CPNE. Can you send me a post as to how your days went? I am trying to get all the narratives from as many great CPNE passers - b/c I have no clinical experience at all. I have enrolled in 2 workshops just to get it. Thanks!
  6. Melody, please let me know about your experience in GA, as I will be taking it in JUly at exactly the same place. I have no clinical experience whatsoever and will need all the help I can get.
  7. Hi-anyone out there that's going to take the CPNE? Send me a post!
  8. I called Excelsior yesterday to clarify the application form and where it is. It is in UNIT 2. And the advisor told me to go ahead and mail whatever you can-and just make a note of what other forms need to follow (I still have to get a criminal background check, a health status exam and a CPR certification).
  9. HI-I used Lisa Arends' study guides w/c I bouthgt from EBAY. They were very comprehensive-and for very less $$$. ANother option is to do The College Network Review books (7 of them). I got all A's in my exams. I studied both resources. Good luck!
  10. Thanks Eric, I am new to posting threads. Appreciate the help.
  11. I have heard that in order to be endrosed in MD, an Excelsior grad must graduate by Dec 2007. What is the latest on this anyone?
  12. Hi there. I have many questions: 1. Just passed my nursing concepts and am about to apply for the CPNE. I got this big book from the Excelsior but could not find an application form for the test. There was a FACTS sheet, the workshop forms, but no application form. May sound stupid, but where is the application form? No online form? 2. What is the CPNE workshop the most recommended one to attend? I saw CHEEDUDCATion (San Jose, CA), Lynn's Workshop and INdiana's workshope, and of course, Excelsior. 3. Anyone out in MD taking the CPNE?
