Evening or Hospital Based Programs

Are there any evening or hospital based nursing progams in the Atlanta metro area. I would love to go to nursing school, but I need to work full time and take care of my family. Any information would be greatly appriceated. Thanks

Have you checked out Brenau University's part-time BSN? Its classes are in Gainseville, GA (about 1 hr north of downtown Atlanta), but I think they take place one or two evenings per week with clinical hours every other weekend. I met a woman who lives here in Atlanta and works full-time during the day in a doctor's office as the office manager and is doing this program part-time. She had lots of great things to say about the program and that it works with her schedule. I put a link below for you. Good luck pursuing your nursing school dream!

Have you try looking into Excelsior college. I heared that this is the new in thing.

Lanier Tech. has a part-time night LPN program in Oakwood Georgia. Most students are eligible for the Hope Grant which covers tuition and some books.

Does that depends on your income or husbands income, or is just everyone eligible?

Income doesn't matter. They don't ask for your income tax returns to recieve the Hope Grant at technical schools in GA. The only thing that would prevent you from receiving it is if you are in default from previous student loans, or if you've been convicted of a felony or something crazy like that. Otherwise, everyone gets it. It doesn't matter who you are, how much you make, etc.

What about an online course geared towards working people?

HOPE does depend on your grades. Gotta have a minimum 3.0.

The Hope SCHOLARSHIP depends on your grades. Students at colleges and universities in GA can receive it if they maintain a certain GPA.

Hope GRANT for Technical Schools doesn't. Anybody trying to obtain a technical degree, diploma, or certificate in the state of GA, including the LPN degree, is eligible to receive the Hope GRANT. The only exceptions would be someone convicted of a felony, someone who is in default from a previous student loan, or some other special circumstance like that. Otherwise, regardless of your income or grades, you CAN receive the Hope Grant.
