Good afternoon all- Just curious if any of you would share your thoughts about what it means to be an Essential Employee. From what I understand in Missouri, Administrators, Food Service, and School Nurses are considered Essential. I thought I heard somewhere that it has been talked about expanding this to pretty much all School Employees. Any thoughts or experience with this subject?
Thank you and Happy FridYAAAAY!

There is talk here so far/ but nothing concrete has been decided. I had been back to work for 4 days and then was told to quarantine for 14 by our DOH due to exposure. Just got off yesterday and our students start back Tuesday.

I believe the president just recently signed an executive order declaring teachers to be essential.
@nursetlm that's a bummer! Hope all is well.
I fear that 10 days into the start of school the teachers (or nursing staff, or paras, whatever ) will start falling like dominoes...

In my state, official word was just released that school nurses are considered essential health care employees and therefore, not subject to quarantine if exposed if we wear proper PPE at work and are asymptomatic. (If we test positive, different story, of course.)
