Guys please educate me on trhe entry level ranking system in the nurse corps. If one one is commissioned with 6 yrs of critical care experience with a BSN, CCRN and a masters programs altready started, what would be the expected entry level rank for Army or Air force?. Almost 15 yrs prior enlisted active duty time, how would Oe pay factor in and at what amount?
Thank in advance
aby input is appreciated.

Your experience is credited by halves - you'd get three years experience for your six years and would either go in as a captain or a first lieutenant (more likely a captain).
You'd be an officer with fifteen years experience - you can do a web search for pay scales and find out what you'd make based on your rank.
Thanks CarolinaPooh
precise ans I'll continue researching this.
I'd call a health professions recruiter to make sure and get the right answers.

I figured the OP could accomplish that for themselves.
Also, Congress just approved another 3.2% pay raise effective 1 Jan 2010, so be sure to look at the 2010 scale as well (also on the DFAS site).

Regarding rank.....
I just commissoned as a 1LT in the ANC (Regular) with 6.5 yrs critical care and 2 Masters (one of them is "relevant"...... MSN--it was not an entry level Masters either). And one yr of reserve.
If you come in as a Captain, you will be lucky (maybe your prior service will help--!)
good luck,
c.

When you enter the Army as a nurse. You will be be a 2nd LT. You have to be a nurse already tho.
Actually, based on the system as noted in my post, since he has 6 years experience he should come in as 1LT.
