cool. I can ask my friend to study with me.. Where is PSEMT? its in QC right? how do i get there? I'm from Las Pinas City.

i'm not that sure if they still accept high school grads. but technically,you can enroll in an EMT class if you're a high school grad because it's not a post grad course. it's just like a vocational program. i'll be starting my emt training in LSTI in cubao on january 3, 2011. pm me if any one of you guys are starting on the same date...we'd be batch mates!

actually i was planning to take this EMT training before to have added skills as a nurse, but as i read through, i found that they have this EMT-B (basic) and EMT-D (defibrillator), which im still thinking if i need to take them if i'm already an er nurse.. I'm curious as to what new knowledge can I obtain from the training.

it depends on your long term plan. if you want to stay in the hospital ER, then no need to take EMT. however, if you plan to work in the pre-hospital setting like the ambulance service or as a company safety officer, then i'm sure you'll be able to get some new tricks from the course.

it's not that they are better, but eventually, the government will be pushing for TESDA certified EMTs. just like with PRC, if you are a BSN, you have to take the board in order to be recognized to practice. EMT is not a post-graduate course... sorry to those who believe that it is. it is actually a vocational course... hence.... it is under TESDA.

sorry, just got around to reading this :) yeap, back in '08 but I finished my OJT in '09.
