Emory CRNA Fall 2017

Published

Hello all, I'm new to this site so if you can post replies back to the forum instead of private messages :)Is anyone else applying to the new Emory CRNA program for fall 2017?

Oh that is new. I checked into them last year and they only had an anesthesia assistant degree and who wants that crap? Good for them for getting with the times. I grew up around Emory and almost did my undergrad there, very very expensive tuition. The debt for CRNA school with them must be astronomical.

Heck yeah it's expensive. I have my GI bill so a lot of it is taken care of but I don't know anyone in their right mind who would pay it when there are less expensive schools out there. I suppose it is only one of two in Georgia, but Augusta University (formerly Georgia Regents costs just as much). Where are all the public schools!

When I started researching CRNA schools I was surprised there wasn't already one in Atlanta. However I cannot find any info on this program, how did you find out about it?

It has not been accredited yet and it's first year will be fall 2017 if it does get accredited. Check out their website they recently updated it under graduate programs.

Oh I found it, thank you for posting about this I had no idea they were starting a CRNA program.

No problem. Keep me posted if you apply!

Is this real??? A few years ago, while I was working at Emory, I called the school and I was told that it will never happen. Wow! I love the program that I am in now but it is nice to know that Atlanta will have a program soon.

I am thinking about applying. I am still on the fence. I feel like if I don't try it will regret it. I'll keep you guys posted.

GA Mommy, sorry I could not reply in a private message. The response time from Emory was within a few weeks (2?) of applying. I say go for it! I applied with a less than desirable GRE, but i'm hopeful my other accomplishments will outshine. :) best of luck and keep us posted!

No worries. The thought of Emory only accepting ten people just seems so intimidating. I am sure you will be fine. Is Emory your first choice school? Keep us posted!!
