Anyone get into CRNA school with ED, not ICU, experience?

A classmate of mine did, but he worked at a level 1 trauma center and also did critical care transport. The experience is going to be program specific, but I believe the majority only except ICU.

I believe they have changed the requirements from 'acute care' to 'critical care' and that many programs are phasing out ED for this reason. This was the last year my school took ED I think. We have a few people in my class, and we are still pretty heavy into didactics so not sure how clinical will go for them. I know a few have had little problems, as we are more familiar with devices and medications. If you are thinking of going, get into a high acuity ICU.
good luck

Anyone get into CRNA school with ED not ICU, experience?[/quote']I did, and guess what, I'm doing just fine- in fact I am at the top of my class. I believe it is about the type of nurse experience, life experience, and whether or not you are the type of person who can think critically and do it well. My ICU experience was so far removed by the time I applied it didn't matter, but we are learning things on a whole new level now. You can do it. A level 1 trauma center does not make you a good nurse- it comes from you!!! Go for it!
