HELP with a PICO question dealing with a research class. It has to be related to the primary care setting not the acute care setting. Would like something with lots of articles as this is a big project! Having trouble coming up with ideas. I feel like diabetes is to generic but has lots of info so if needed will resort to that. Thanks in advance :)

Can you come up with anything related to elderly patients? What problems do they have accessing or getting the most out of primary care as they age? We're all getting older and how do healthcare personnel adapt their interventions to the needs of their patients who are quite elderly? I've personally witnessed situations with a lot of room for improvement, both in intervention and outcomes.
Does that help?

You might visit the school nurse and ambulatory care groups here. There's lots of discussion.

How about case management around a particular disease, such as diabetes or heart failure?

Love this idea! We had to do a similar project for my RN to BSN community health class. We started by doing a community health survey, which was helpful in generating ideas. My community has a larger than average % of elderly patients. I made a nursing diagnosis of "risk for isolation", and then formatted a PICO question based on that diagnosis.

Pick something you are interested about, and go from there. If it was me I'd be focusing on primary prevention, maybe evaluating different strategies to reduce unintended pregnancies and rates of STIs in adolescents and young adults. Or evaluating the risks/benefits of common health interventions like mammograms, cholesterol screenings, A1C targets, pap smears, prostate CA screening, etc. That's just me though.
