Dumb mistake,help!!!!

I recently was hired for a really good job as a Cna,but while I was talking to the woman she said to officially start work I would need my CNA certification card,I have the actual certificate but I stupidly lost the card. It is Saturday and I have to wait until Monday to call the state board. Does anyone know how long it would be for them to send me a replacement? Thanks in advance!

You can show the certificate as proof, that you passed and explain that you misplaced the card. The certificate has the same info as the card, you may not even need to get the card. Relax and see what they say. Congratulations on the job.

Also if the state has a registry you can look up online, that might be another way.

My state doesn't even mail out cards anymore unless you request one. Just tell them you don't have a physical copy yet, they can verify your certification online or by phone.

Don't sweat it. I'm in NY and had to get another copy from Prometric. The sheet of paper the certificate is on also has a card on it you can cut out. Like the prior poster said they can always check the registry and your certificate should be good.

Best of luck.

Print off the cert from the registry and request a copy. I wouldnt tell the new job you lost your card, tell them you're waiting for it.

Oh, and congratulations on your new job as a CNA!

I agree with the advice tomc5555 is giving you.

Congratulations!!

I agree with tomc5555

Thanks for the answers and congrats everyone , sorry I am just responding (computer issues), I requested a new card and certificate which hopefully will be here very soon. I did not tell the human resources lady that I did not have my card but I asked her why I needed one and she said it was to keep in my file just in case the state came to the nursing home. I am really excited about this job and hope everything works out in time for orientation.
