I am a new nurse at a snf. I leave late (really late) every night, i am completely overwhelmed with the amount of paperwork i have to do. I try to give great patient care and cannot even get treatment's done on the pm shift. Anyone else feel the same?

This is the precise reason why I will never accept a full-time 3-11:00pm shift at a SNF/subacute rehab facility again, unless I was on the verge of homelessness. This is the shift that gets slammed with admissions, paperwork, and constant interruptions from families. I've been there and done that, and it is hell on earth for me.

Yes PM shift can be very busy in a nursing home. Difficult to get everything done even if you have worked there for a long time.

I agree with the previous post .. I worked in a LTC facility for 3 months 3-11, and every night would leave at 1:00 in the morning.. I agree it is
Physically impossible to pass meds on 29+, or more residents, admissions, discharges, wound care, skin assessments and list goes on.... On top of that there was no ancillary help at all, to help with anything.. I left and did home care, and now I just started at. Local hospital on there med surg floor.. I'll keep u updated on that..
