  1. Do you have your resume on linked in or something like that? If you do that is maybe how they contacted you.
  2. Yes PM shift can be very busy in a nursing home. Difficult to get everything done even if you have worked there for a long time.
  3. What kind of job were you doing before?
  4. I guess the main office is in arizona. They do health screenings.
  5. Has anyone worked for summit health? I was wondering what it was like working for them.
  6. I think they called it pre employment process.
  7. I'm not sure. At first I thought it was just the drug test. But she said it would take a couple of hours. So I think it might be something more.
  8. I had an interview for a job in a nursing home. Now I have to go in for a pre employment testing. I am an lpn. I'm not sure what to expect. Any ideas?
  9. I finally received a call for an interview for a job at a doctors office. Thank you everyone for your support and suggestions. Wish me luck with the interview.
  10. Do I have to put I was terminated on an application, or can I put some other reason down? I'm afraid if they see termination they won't even consider me for the job.
  11. Have been an LPN for over 30 years. Work has been getting more difficult and I have been struggling. I try my best but can't seem to get everything done. I am working as hard as I can. I should have tried to find another job but I didn't. Just recently I was fired for poor work performance. I have signed up for unemployment but not sure if I can get it. I am feeling depressed and like a failure. I'm not sure if I can find another job because of the termination and poor economy. Any words of wisdom or encouragement would be appreciated.
  12. The nurse who had been working on the floor where the fall occured had already given report and was punched out already. The night nurse was getting report from another nurse. I was trying finish my charting and still had to give report. It was about 5 minutes left of my shift. The aid called the nurses station and wanted the nurse to come down because a resident had fallen. Since the night nurse was still getting report I went down and assessed her and she didn't have any apparent injury. I charted in the chart and had the aid fill out a witness statement. I did that to help the night nurse out. She wanted me to fill out all the paper work. I still had to give her report and finish my charting. We are not to have any overtime. Do you think I was wrong to ask the night nurse to do the rest of the paper work.
  13. I work in a LTC facility. We have quite a few nurse techs and med techs working. It used to be that the nurse techs could do most everything but they needed to have an RN cosign their charting. But now they can't do insulins or tube feedings and they can't do any charting. The RN or an LPN has to do their charting. Is this the way they do this where you work? Nurse Tweety
  14. I think what you are referring to is white coat hypertension. It is an episode of elevated B/P when it is taken by a health care professional. It is attributed to anxiety regarding medical examination procedures or fear of possible findings. I found this in my tabers. Hope this helps. Nursetweety
  15. Thank you Kessadawn & EricEnfermero for the information. :wink2:
