Nursing Students NCLEX

Ok I finished and just got home. I finished at about 95 questions. Yes it shuts off fast and if you don't look at it beforehand, you don't know exactly lol.

NOW. The wait. Aghhh. I'm sitting here trying to work out in my mind how this all works. If you only need 50% right, then how does it know to shut off? And lets say if you were missing loads of questions, would'nt you be able to go thru the whole 285 questions to redeem yourself??

Gosh I think I passed..I did well in NS, but I have this fear of failure. I guess thats the way it goes tho huh?

So I'm checking online at the Delaware Nursing Board site. It still says "pending", which it has since I got my GN permit. If I failed, I wonder what it would say?? :uhoh21:

I took mine on Sat. It shut off at 98. What a stupid number to shut off at, lol. I was thinking the same thing if I wasn't passing at 98, they should have let me keep going, right?????? Unless I was doing soooo horribly (which I cant totally rule out at this point). Aaaarrgghhh! Darn Mississippi for not having the quick results : ( Do you have quick results where you are?

What kinds of questions did ya have? any math?

I have heard you can fail/pass at any number, including 75. Yes, people have failed at 75! My NCLEX instructor told us if you fail in the early numbers, it's because there is no way, even with the other questions, that you can pass. The computer knows this :)

I just got in from the test too. shut off at 75, so I am hoping I pass... Good luck RNJUNE.

Jodyangel,

let us know how you did. I take my NCLEX on the 27th. What did you do the night before the test and the day of the test??

Some of my nurse freinds told me to do something fun and not to look at any questions beginning the night before. Me....I want to take my laptop with me and do a couple of questions in the parking lot before I walk in.....LOL. :behindpc:

I haven't felt any pressure until today!!! Last night I had a dream that I forgot my id and ATT number and they wouldn't let me take the test!! Now I feel like anything could go wrong. And I have a week to go........

Well good to know you have it behind you jodyangel... I wish you all the success under the sun. :)

Jodi,

I think if you don't pass it will just continue to say pending, and they will send you a breakdown of how you did in the mail. I don't know about the permit though. Don't get to anxious if you don't see a change on the site in 24 hours. I just talked to a student that took the NCLEX (PN) last week and she said it took five days to get her results back, which is unusual in our area. Good luck.

I passed!!!! My friend (who also passed yesterday) texted me while I was on lunch break. What a Feeling!! I cried lol..

what did I do? I studied the day before. Couldn't help myself lol. Then had a nice glass of wine and went to bed. Got up at 5:30am and had a nice breakfast and headed out.

I finished the exam in just over an hour. I wasn't going to look until I got home today, but the text blew me Out of the water. It was nice tho, cause no one but nurses can understand what we nurses go thru.

Wow! I keep hearing about so many people finding out before 48 hours...

Jody, how did you find out so soon? I wish mine were up!

Can you verify your license? Go on your BON website and find where it says verify. Then put your name in. You might find out if they've updated their site. Thats how I know!!

From my program that I am in ... they have given a lot of talk about the NCLEX prep and somewhat how the computer works. Basically it isnt so much about the number of questions and what you got wrong but its testing what you know ... so it probably started off on simple questions and worked its way up... your answers predict your level of thinking and knowledge to see if youre ready to be on the floor. So if you are at a simple basic level it will keep asking just simple questions ? Thats just the hear say from the teachers @ my school. My program is great in that we have started to prepare NCLEX style and what a different way of thinking lemme tell ya! when asked questions on an exam of course it is what answer is right. But from what Ive learned thus far (NCLEX style) its basically reading through ALL answers picking out the two that for sure are incorrect and then there are usually two that would be correct and deciphering which would be the most absolute correct. Seems simple, but from what I have prepared up to this point I feel lost!!
