Do I still have a shot at getting in?

Does anyone know of anyone who has actually gotten into the program with C's among their pre-req grades? At first I thought my chances of getting in were great because I was able to maintain a 3.8- 4.0 GPA. Now I'm not so sure. My packet is due March 1st of this year, so I really have no spare time to retake anything because my schedule is already booked up for this quarter alont with next quarter.

So here are my grades. * are beside classes that are actual pre-reqs.

RDG 097 A

SCT 100 A*

MATH 098

MEDICAL TERM B

MATH 1013 A

BIO 093 C

A&P 1 B*

ENGLISH 1101 D* (this class is being retaken spring quarter 2011)

MATH 099 A

A&P 2 C*

EMP 1000 A

COLLEG ALGEBRA A*

I'm currently in the winter quarter , we actually just started back. But I'm taking Phlebotomy and CNA and finishing up CNA at the end of this quarter. For spring quarter I am retaking English 1101, and taking PSY 1101 and finishing my Phlebotomy clinicals. So my schedule is quite booked. My GPA after last quarter was only like 3.2-something, and overall its like 3.0. So I have this quarter grades, and then spring quarter's grades to help try to bring it up. I also took the NLN-pre test and my compass score was like 105, and I read that 100 is like only average.

So if anyone doesn't mind, I would just like to know if I could still have a chance at this.

    The C & B in A&P hurt, but that D is much worse. I know that you are going to retake it in the spring, but the admissions board isnt going to see the retake grade, just that you got a D and you are retaking it.

    As far as GPA goes, I am not sure if programs look at courses that are less than 100 level (at least at my college those are not college level courses and are not used for GPA calculations).

    I have seen people get into top ten programs with just over a 3.0, so there is still hope, but you really need to get your grades back up, if not to your 3.8-4.0 goal then to as high as possiable.

    Yea. Good luck to you. When is your packet due? Mine is due by March 1,2011. Then the interview which I hear counts for alot.

    keep applying. i know in FL they wont accept you if you've retaken a class more than once which i have so i'm applying to a school in puerto rico which has a english nursing program

    If I were you, I would retake that English and A and P too. Also, what does SCT stand for? I'd retake anything that is below a "B". But that is jmo.

    those kind of look like my grades.....and i soooo feel you on this one.. =( i actually recently got accepted into a nursing program and am also on a waitlist for another program and im 2 semesters away... our position sucks because competitive applicants maintain a 3.5 gpa and up in cumulative AND prereq gpa... but there's still hope. I actually failed micro and retook it got a B.. im considering re-taking my physio class again (which i got a C) in hopes of another school recognizing my efforts...
