I'll try to ask this as succinctly as possible, lol.
I'm licensed in three states, one of which is a compact state. Of course all the expiration dates are far from similar.
Am I able to use CEs for each one? Or do they all have to be different ones?
For example, I take a 3 hour course on pain management. Can I submit the certificate for that course to all three states when it's time to renew my license, or can I only submit it to one?
I know it sounds kinda like double or triple dipping... but I want to make absolutely sure before I go getting 90 hours of CEs.
Thanks so much!

I can't see why the requirements would be cumulative. I'd just submit the same certificate to each state, assuming the particular CEs were acceptable based on that state's requirements.

I'm licensed in OH and FL with renewals in different years. (of course:rolleyes:)
What I use as my CEUs for one state will be the same, with the exception of the required CEUs per renewal.
Nursing Law for OH, and DV, AIDS and Med Error CEU's for FL.

They can most definitely overlap....I did that when I was a traveler. What you need to make sure of though: that the accrediting body for the CEU's you are using are recognized by each state's BON. I've found some states get picky as to who they accept CEU's from. It's not that hard to check actually, the people administering the CEU's usually have a statement attached that says who is accrediting them. Otherwise, you should be home free.

I usually use Western Schools and test online. They ask what states you are licensed in and the license numbers, so they can report the credits to each board of nursing.
