  1. I'll try to ask this as succinctly as possible, lol. I'm licensed in three states, one of which is a compact state. Of course all the expiration dates are far from similar. Am I able to use CEs for each one? Or do they all have to be different ones? For example, I take a 3 hour course on pain management. Can I submit the certificate for that course to all three states when it's time to renew my license, or can I only submit it to one? I know it sounds kinda like double or triple dipping... but I want to make absolutely sure before I go getting 90 hours of CEs. Thanks so much! Traci
  2. VERY interesting thread... We were led to believe that chloroprep wouldn't cause this type of reaction... lots of questions.. but I'll sit on them for now
  3. YAY for new grads in the OR.. *I'm one too!!* We (4 of us hired) did PeriOp101 in July/August and have each done rotations through one service.. and started our second week of the second service today.. I'm having an absolute blast.. I knew this is where I belong.. so it makes the frustrations a bit easier.. but some days are really rough.. keep your chin up.. and WELCOME!
  4. we just had a cholorprep inservice last week.. according to Mike.. (our Cardinal rep) scrub back and forth at the incision site for a good 30 seconds, and then move out from there like you would using beta paint...(frame or circles) no blotting or wiping, but let it dry... *and try to talk the surgeons/techs into NOT wiping it all off after the procedure.. it's effect is cumulative.. it'll keep working for like 48 hours!!!*
  5. We've got one ... and get this.. a few weeks ago.. I couldn't figure out why a hysterectomy/BSO was on the schedule for 8 hours!!!!! You got it.. DaVinci!.. I was amazed!!!! I really wanted to meet the patient and ask her why the heck she agreed to an 8 hour robot surgery instead of a traditional open or even a vag hyst that would take.. oh .. 1/8th the time..
