Dissappointed

first off, you are not stupid or you would not have completed your course work. So quit beating up on yourself (although a natual reaction). Next, I am not familiar with LVN/LPN tests, but there should be a study guide and sample questions. Read them daily. You might look over your textbooks, especially if there are objectives in the front of the chapter and questions in the back. Can you contact a previous instructor for advice? Get a good night's sleep before the test in Dec., without aid of alcohol or pills. Eat a good breakfast. Focus! Don't waste energy on what a disappointment this is because you need to concentrate on the future. GOOD LUCK and let us know when you pass in December.:kiss

There are several study guides out there that have computer disks with them. Try and use them if you have computer access. Try to do at least 200 questions a day if possible. If not do a practice exam every other day. They are short but catch your mistakes. I feel for you. I took my LPN before taking my RN boards and I felt like I had failed the LPN more than the RN. I cried all day after the LPN because I just KNEW that I had failed it. There is no shame in failing the test. The shame is in not learning from it. I think that since you have taken it once, it will not be as nerve wracking the next time because you know what to expect.

Keep your head up as well as your spirits. You are to be congratulated on the fact that you finished your schooling and are willing to take the test over. Ask your class mates if any one else has failed the exam and offer to be a study buddy.

Get a good nights sleep the night before. Eat breakfast. Allow yourself to get there in plenty of time for the test. When overwhelmed, close your eyes - take 3 deep breaths releasing them slowly - open your eyes and continue. the deep breaths help to slow the heart rate and decrease anxiety. Above all, believe in yourself.:kiss

you likely suffered anxiety...that can get to any of us.

Just take this time to review some NCLEX books, material, rest up and try again. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! hang in there and best wishes to you.

Now you just stop that! The hardest part you have already done! I am sure that was no easy task! Were you really nervous? It happened to my best friend she didn't pass her boards the first time but did it the next time. She was so nervous she frozed up!

I took my nclex-pn on the computer and the questions I received were more bedside with geriatrics and peds. I purchased Kaplan study guide because it teaches you how to answer those multiple choice questions. Don't dwell on it, focus on December, go in there with a vengence that you will conquer it this time. Please keep us informed my fingers are crossed!!!!!!! Just practice those test questions so you can use to them. Then when you go in there your anxiety level wont be so bad.
