Greetings ...
I'm tired of digging; been doing this all morning so hope someone can help. I have an AAS through Excelsior - I know some have issues but I was a paramedic for forever in a variety of settings and I've done pretty well. However, I want to continue to get my BSN, and I was really hoping to find a program that offers (advanced?) pathophysiology and pharmacology as those are the two classes I really *want* to take (love that stuff!). The problem is I don't have a speech class in my background and I cannot get my schedule worked out to take one locally (honest - I really would take one if I could), and all the schools I've found that offer the two classes I want require speech as a prereq. Anyone have ideas?

Have you checked with your local CCs? I dug up this thread:
Anybody knows if it is possible to take Speech class online? - Nursing for Nurses
Will continue to do a little searching and see what I can find.
And ... this might work for you! :)

Take the speech class at a local community college and tranfer it to the school you want to attend. Talk to them first to insure they will accept it.

I live in Iowa and the majority of our community colleges offer online speech classes. You have to tape your speech and then send it to your instructor via email. If I were you, I would check into your local community colleges and transfer them into your program. What state do you live in?
Wow. An online speech class. Who'da thunk it? Never even occurred to me that it might be a possibility. I mean, really? A public speaking course where you never have to speak in public? I live in Montana, FWIW. I'll check and see if I can find on online speech course at the colleges around here. Thanks to everyone.
