Did I pass or not??????

Published

hello every one so I took the NCLEX in NY this morning and when I got home I tried the PVT trick and I even entered all valid credit card info and when I hit submit I got got this pop up that said "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time."

Is this the good message, obviously I am not gonna start celebrating until I see offical results but it would put my nerves to rest to at least think I passed for now.

Thank you.

You joined over two years ago, but have read nothing about the PVT in all that time? Nor now, before posting this question?

To answer you, simply put, you do not know if you passed, as you did not wait until your second score was finalized. You did the PVT prior to 24 hours after the completion of your test, so you know your FIRST score was a 'pass'. That's the 'good pop up' you're talking about.

If after 24 HOURS has passed, you cannot register for another exam, it indicates a passing score.

Sometimes people will say it didn't work because they got the 'good' pop up and it turns out they failed (did it too early, first scoring known only).....OR they are so sad they failed, paid $200 for another exam, and it turned out they passed (and are out 200 bucks).

In all probability, you did pass; most first-time testers DO pass, and USUALLY the second scoring matches the first. But count on nothing until you get official results, or have waited AT LEAST 24 HOURS post exam to try PVT.

Thank you for the response yes I have read other posts but a lot have been very confusing which is why I'm unsure and I have heard certain people say it is good even before 24 hours.

But thank you for the response

No problem. Unfortunately the board gets mucked up with bad advice thrown on top of good. The people who tell you that the PVT is reliable prior to 24 hours (because they did it that way) are simply wrong; they didn't realize that it was scored twice and they are fortunate to have their second score match their first, that's all. Sometimes ignorance is bliss ;)

So it's been about 25 hours and just re checked the PVT and still getting the same message (the good pop) so I hope it works!!!!!!

Hey, you can be a little bit nicer. Not everyone that joins reads all the posting. What if she/he joined and only read stuff for nursing school.

I didn't learn about the PVT until a friend told me before I took my exam. I didn't look at this part of the forums until then.

I don't know if it's the same in NY but my gvn permit was taken off the BON website after 24 hours while my other classmates stayed on there even after the test. Today I paid the $8 and found out I failed. So maybe you can try seeing if your gn permit is still on the website or not. I'm not saying it's reliable but when I saw mine was no longer there, I knda knew it meant I failed.

I'm sorry to see that you failed. I hope you continue on and try again.

Well I took my exam on a Thursday at 8am, and because I was second guessing myself about answers that I may or may not have answered correctly, I did the PVT at 11am the same day and the pop up came up. The next day I was at work and during my lunch hour (noon time) I got the confirmation email from the BON, so for me I knew within a couple hours after taking that I possibly passed.

Good luck!!!

Oh yes. I'm not giving up just yet. This is my calling and I will pass this nclex next time around even if I have to study harder.:)

hi @amgoldsmith, may i ask what study material did you use to prepare for the NCLEX? and what/which resource do you think helped you the most in preparing?

Thank you
