Did not get in

I just got the message from my fiance that my letter arrived this morning. I did not get in. I had been going back and forth with my decision for a few weeks now and wasn't sure if I wanted to move forward with nursing school so today the decision was made for me. I had low ATI testing scores did not have the best grades...only about a 3.2 gpa if you include my previous degree. I will be applying to Master's degree programs as my next move.

I am actually relieved and feel that God was looking out for me in that He prevented me from making a big mistake, but it is always hard to face rejection. I feel like maybe I am not intelligent and who knows if I will make it in grad school. I know this is only because the news is still fresh. Anyway, good luck to everyone in school or trying to get in school.

I am off to devote my energy to planning my wedding next year and preparing for grad school.

Hey, I know the feeling of rejection. :penguin: I was rejected last semester (well kind of.. I was told I would be re-evaluated). :rolleyes:

Anyway, pursuing something that is more in line with your interest is not a bad option. In fact, 6 years ago I wanted to attend nursing school but I had no way of doing so because I need to continue to work full-time. So a few years later I applied and was accepted into an MBA program.

I continued to work full-time and I attended graduate school part-time. I gained valuable experience in business and health care in the process. I am VERY glad I did this because if I had gone the nursing school route first I would have never known that my talents and interest lay in business as well as health care.

I plan to work as a Registered Nurse but on the admin and public health side. I too feel God was looking out for me! So good luck to you and your journey.

Who knows? You may be back our way later on. Or you may find something better suited to your needs and talents. Either way, may you find a way to grow in your career so you may be better able to serve God!!!

I am not sure if I would like to study Healthcare Administration or go the MBA route. I am going to take a few more undergrad courses to raise my GPA and to get my confidence level back up.

If you choose the MBA route you can initially get an MBA in Health Care Admin or you can get an MBA in something else and later attach Health Care Admin to your MBA (something I am thinking of doing) later on. MBAs are great degrees! Good luck. :wink2:
