question: do you think that when a student convinces himself/herself that they need to go home........they will stop at nothing to do this ?
i see it all the time. even after a normal nursing assessment. if they set their mind to it....they will continue to complain to the teacher until they are successful.
just an observation here. :loveya:

Yes, I just love it when they come in at 0830 with a headache, then at 0900 with a stomachache, then when you are about to send them back to class again suddenly they have a whole new complaint. Usually if they are sent to me a 3rd time I call home and make it clear to the parent that I feel they are well enough to remain in class, but it is their choice if they want to come get them. It is split about 50/50 on if the parent will cave or not.

When I talk to the parents, I usually find out that little brother got to stay home and student tried his hardest to convince mom and she sent him off to school. They get right out of mom's car and go to work on you!
That reminded me of one who would play sick every two weeks on her mother's payday!!! Thank goodness that mom finally caught on, then called to clue me in on it! She never got away with it after that.
