How do I start working in a Dementia/Alzheimer's ward?

Just put your right foot in, take your right foot out, put your right foot in, then you shake it all about.

Step 1. Look for job openings in your area

Step 2. Apply for job.

If it's your memory, vanilla bean, perhaps you could benefit from a script of an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor.

(They use those a lot on Dementia/Alzheimer's wards.)

Sorry, Blakleywest. Welcome to AN.com.

There are Memory Care Units in conjunction with Geriatric Psych Units in some Hospitals. Anomaly Memorial Hospital, in my hometown, has one.

Specializes in LTC and Pediatrics.

Some LTC facilities may also have Alzheimer units

Pretty easy. Surely there are some nursing homes you can apply to. The jobs are easy to obtain, they pretty much hire anyone.

OP - like Davey said, there are Geri-psych units where there are dementia wings as well. My hospital used to have this; they did get rid of it last year because it wasn't a money maker for the hospital, but they certainly exist.
