Del Mar e-line nursing program

I just found out about this program for Texans. Has anyone on the boards gone through the program or know anyone that has?? I hope to speak with an advisor tomorrow. I'm in the DFW area and I'm wondering how hard it would be to find a clinical site. Seems like this is a great way to go. I already have experience in the medical field.

Any info. would be appreciated.

Hi. I just started the eLine program through Del Mar. The website answers alot of the questions. If you have specifics, I can try to answer them. I am excited about the program. It is very organized and seems to be really comprehensive.

Congratulations on starting the progam! :)

Do you know for what semester(s) the program accepts applicants? Traditional programs begin in the Fall and some programs have a Spring entry as well. Deaconess has Spring, Summer and Fall. I'm thinking Del Mar is similar to Deaconess.

Thanks for any info!

Hello to all. Can someone explain how the program at delmar college works. (Eline)

all pre-req's must be completed before admission to the program. everything is on-line and they will setup your clinicals locally in your area through a preceptor.

an introduction to health occupations class is required for admission as well.

Hello I am trying to found a good nursing program. I am confused on how they select there students. Also I live in Louisiana. Also how much does this schooling cost.

I think Delmar is only for Texas residents. "Do not print that or I will sue" :-)

They are re-doing thier program. I am not sure if it will then include students from other locations.

You can go to google.com and type in "Delmar Eline" . You can then get info on the program and also get a contact number.

WOW! This program seems Wonderful!!!! It would work great for me...

The website said it could be completed in as quickly as 13-14 months.

So they help you get a clinical instructor? Do you go 2-3 times a week just like students in a regular program?

How hard are the classes?

If you have all the prereq's, how tough is it to get in?

Is this available only in Texas?

Any info will be helpful....

I am enrolled in the BSN program but the Delmar program is very similar.

It is self paced so you can move as fast as you are able to. It is a full curriculum and if you work and go to school it will be tough to finish in 13-14 months. It seems 2-3 years is more realistic unless you can devote all of your time to studying. The courses are the same ones you would complete if you attended campus. The level of difficulty is the same as any ADN or BSN program.

The school will set up your clinical site. For the first semester you cannot do clinicals until the classwork is complete. The clinicals will be just like in a traditional program because the state of tx has certain requirements.

If you have your pre-reqs completed and have a 3.0, you shouldn't have a problem getting in. Rita Rushing is the advisor and her contact information is on the website. She can do a transfer course analysis for you if you provide her all of your transcripts and course descriptions.

The program is only for Texas residents at this time I do believe.

I started in Feb. and I really like the program so far. You can PM me if you have additional questions, but I'm not enrolled in Del Mar, so I don't know the specifics for that program.

Is anyone applying to the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi BSN eLine Program? I have been researching online and accelerated nursing programs in Texas and that one is my top pick. If anybody is interested I have found a few other online and accelerated programs:

Texas Tech University has a new second degree BSN online program. The clinicals have to be completed in Austin/Central Texas or Lubbock. They are offering Pathophysiology online this summer.

UTMB and UT Houston HSC are offering second degree BSN programs with some of the courses online. Clinicals have to be completed in the Houston/Galveston area.

Austin Community College has an online ADN program. Clinicals are completed in Austin, Smithville, Round Rock, or San Marcos. They used to have a FasTrack program but it is being phased out. I have heard admissions are very competitive.

Accelerated Programs that don't offer online courses: Texas Woman's University - Houston, Houston Baptist University, Texas Christian University, UT Austin (leads to Master's degree).

If anyone is applying to any of these programs or knows information about these programs please post to help others in the application process.
