Can someone break down the degree deffinitions from UK schools for me? Example:

P.G. Dip, M.Sc, MA.

Thank you.

Specializes in RN, BSN, CHDN.

Hi,,

here are some definitions which I hope will help

BSC- Batchelor of Science Degree- 3-4yrs full time

BSC- (hons) Batchelor of science honours

MA -Masters- 2yrs

PHD -Doctorate-5yrs

Dip -Diploma-3yrs full time

Adv -Dip advanced diploma-3 yrs full time

PG- post graduate- any studies following your first degree, normally do these studies to make up credits to get your Masters.

Level of studying

Level 2=120 credits=diploma

120 credits level 2+60 credits level 3= Adv Diploma

Level 2 =120 credits+Level 3=120 credits = batchelor degree

I believe what makes the difference between degree and honours degree is the dissertation + exam you do to get the honours title.

Hope this makes sense
