Jul 13, 201015 yr Any trying to get into the DCCC 2011 programs. I am and I about to take the TEAS test any tips anyone?? I really would love it. Im not sure what to study. Has anyone tooken it?
Sep 2, 201015 yr I'm taking pre-reqs at dccc this semester, and was originally planning to do my BSN/MSN somewhere else (I've already got BAs in political science and english) Have been thinking that it would be really nice to save the boatloads of cash and do dccc for the RN and then going on to one of the bridge programs for my MSN. So, a bit late to the party for apply for 2011, does anyone know if they're offering the TEAS again before the application deadline in Oct?
Sep 2, 201015 yr You are not too late at all. You must register for the teas at the Marple campus. They have lots of dates at Marple and other DCCC locations. Get the ATI study manual and any other study manual you can get you hands on. You must wait 6 weeks in between taking the teas. So if you wanted to take it twice between now and the OCT deadline, you may be cutting it a little close. They have nursing information sessions you can attend that give you all the info. What are you taking this semester?
Sep 2, 201015 yr I'm going to go to the info session tonight, and hopefully can get the TEAS scheduled soon, will probably only get one in though so i'm going to hope for the best!I'm taking Chem 110 with Ed Miskiel, and Bio 220 (nutrition + well being) online with Pester. Planning to take Chem 111 and Microbiology next semester. Are you enrolled this semester in anything?
Sep 2, 201015 yr I am only enrolling in the classes required by DCCC for the nursing program. It sounds like you are taking some courses for your BSN because they are not requirements for the DCCC nursing program, sounds like its gonna be a tough road this semester for you. Either way you'll have them out of the way for when you go for your BSN. I am currently taking Anatomy/ phys I this semester. It's my last prereqs i have to take. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get in, if not, i'll have some hard decisions to make. Good luck with the teas
Sep 4, 201015 yr Hi everyone! I'm applying for 2011 for the Chester County day program. :) I'm taking the TEAS for the first time in just under two weeks, and I'm so nervous. I've been studying the McGraw-Hill's Nursing School Entrance Exam guide, and have been doing very well on it. But when I've done practice tests online, such as testprepreview.com, I've found the content to be a lot different and more difficult. For those who have taken the test and used any of those two sources to study, are either of them similar to what the test is like? I'm thinking of purchasing the ATI online assessment because I heard that content is very similar to the exam.
Sep 5, 201015 yr AMG418Be sure when you are taking or studying any material that it is for the Teas Version V, that is the latest version of the test and that is the version that DCCC uses. There are other previous versions, 3 and 4, that some schools still use. The ATI practice tests test you on version V(or 5). I made that mistake and studied material that is NOT covered in version V. You can search this web site "teas V" and you can find some tips of what to study to better prepare you for Version V. Good Luck, I am also taking it in a couple of weeks for the 2nd time.
Sep 5, 201015 yr jjk1009,Thanks for the information! That is very helpful in knowing what to study before the big day. And good luck to you too! And here's another person hoping we hear in November!
Sep 16, 201015 yr Just finished the TEAS... I feel like I can take a breath of fresh air since that weight has been lifted! I scored a 91.3% overall.
Oct 5, 201015 yr updating...got a 92 on the teas, yeah! I'm shocked, since I studied for all of 3 days before the test. So, when do they usually send out the acceptance letters? I'm already antsy , and I know it's going to be a long while before we know anything, lol!
Oct 25, 201015 yr Congrats! That's an awesome score! :) And I was wondering the same thing! I hope they are sent out sooner rather than later haha.I was looking over all of the steps for applying for the nursing program and I had a question about the Placement test. I submitted a transcript from the college I go to now, and got credit for Math for Elementary teachers and English Composition II (Kind of random they didn't give me credit for English Composition I haha..). Do these courses count to get me out of the Placement test? I've completed everything else for petitioning for the program and need to make sure I don't need to take the test before Friday.
Nov 12, 201015 yr I took the test twice and my best score was a 78.8% Science was my downfall. I guess taking my A&P classes would've helped, but unfortunately they weren't available in Chester County when I registered for classes. I feel like it's a terrible score, but I do fall in the 88th percentile, which is better then the average. Maybe it's just that no one with poor scores is posting them? Not sure, but I'll be nervous until I get a letter saying yes or no! Good luck to everyone and hears hoping for this to be a major turning point for a good change in my life!!!!!
