days of retake for cali?

Published

hi. I took my exam last tuesday and I didn't saw my name in the online verification which was updated yesterday. So instead of mourning and dragging myself crying over spilled milk I just want to prepare for it again.:typing I don't want the feeling of failure but then again I have to face it. I still don't have my official letter but I still want to be prepared for the worst scenario. How many days are allowed to have a re-take in Board of California because I am confused of whether it is 45 days or 91 days?:saint:

And oh by the way, how can I change my mailing address because I just transferred here in Illinois to take my exam. I live in a foreign country and would like the processing to become faster so i'd like to change my mailing address within US.

I want to keep my sanity for this exam and I don't want to prolong my agony about it. I've been crying for the past 3 days and I think it doesn't make me a better person and i'd really like to cope with this feeling. Plus, I want to be my parents'pride and would really want to prove myself again.:redpinkhe

Pls..PLSSSSS.. help me how to prepare again.. what tips can I get? what is Suzanne's Tips? how could I have that? this is incase I really didn't pass the exam. I really, really want to have a USRN title after my name and would really want to strive and earn it.:nurse:

THANKS:p

California takes anywhere from 3-10 days but they may have a backlog and your file may not be complete. Also depends on if you have a SSN or not.

Before you start studying again I would wait until you get your results so hang in there and good luck

thanks for that info. but i'd really like to know if how many days would it take for a retake JUST in case.:)

and I want to change my address permanently since I'm now residing at Illinois:) So my parents won't be having a hard time sending my files from there to here.:) how would I do that?

Ca is 45 days and to change address just contact BRN

Thank you so much:) i've been thinking a lot about it:)

Do you actually have a SSN#? If not, the wait is usually two weeks plus before they send out the letter to you. And if the mailing address is out of the US, then you are looking at about a month to get results.

I would not do one thing until you actually get your results from them.

Until you know something definite, it is best to never assume anything.

For my program, you should always take a week after you get your results to just let things settle in and your brain relax. You do not have them so no reason to panic.

You also need to be aware that with my program, there is no way that you will be ready to test in just 6 weeks; you are looking at minimum of two months. You will be preparing as if you have never tested before. But again, please wait until you get your results.

And if you do not have a SSN#, then you will not be a US RN until you present the BRN with that number.

i dont have my ssN# but i'm staying here till March so can I change my address?

If you do not have a SSN#, then you are going to be waiting for the letter to arrive by snail mail in your home country if they do not already have a new address on file for you with the BRN. Letters are not normally sent out until two weeks after testing if they are going overseas in most cases.

You can contact them now to see if they will send the letter to where you are now located, but again you are going to have to wait to receive it.

You are not going to be seeing your name on their website since they do not issue a license without a SSN#. All you will receive is a letter that will give you your results. If you pass, then you have three years to give them a SSN# or they will destroy your file. You are also not going to be considered a US RN until you have an actual license number issued to you as well.

Suggest that you check out the International Forum to find out what you will need to do to maintain your passing results.

Best of luck to you, but most definitely do not begin any preparation until you actually get your results. It is a well known fact that getting results if you were overseas is only by snail mail and usually takes a month.

Do you have a visa allowing you to work here in the US?

well, an agency is just waiting for my results of nclex to process my papers.:)

:) :) :) :) :) Pls Give Me More Strength :)

suzanne..

thank you so much for that info. it kinda gave me more hope that my result is still good. I really want to start changing my thinking because it's been getting the best of me. That's the reason I joined this forum to seek comfort from other people and ask questions.

I'll try to call BON of california to check if they sent my records already. Wait, i'll just clarify again..after my exam after 2 weeks they will send my results?

thanks:)
