I've got accepted. I'm so excited. Thank you all for answering my questions. Best of lucks for any one still waiting. There is still another semester and you never know, someone might choose to drop out.

Yes I applied last September and got in but had to give away my spot, and deferred to spring of 2019. This period might have been a very competitive one

I see, I knew others that weren't accepted right away attended the orientation. So it's for alternates.

But again, If you all had 30 pts I'm sure you'll get in for fall!

I did not receive an email, but I see my status on the health science portal thing.

do you know if people with 28 points have a good chance?

Oh I guess I wasn't selected as an alternate and was just automatically placed on the chronological waitlist? This is what my email says

Thank you for your interest in the Cypress College Registered Nursing Program as evidenced by your recent application. The Selection Committee has given careful consideration to your application. You were not selected for the Spring 2019 class. Candidates who ranked highest on the Rank Order and the Chronological Waiting List were selected for Spring 2019.

If you have any questions concerning your application, selection, or the program you may email us at [email protected] or call the counseling center to request an appointment with a Health Science counselor or obtain their walk-in hours at (714) 484-7015.

Your name will be retained on the list for the Fall 2019 selection of students automatically.

If you are not selected for the Fall 2019 semester, be sure to update your application during the application period in early September to retain your place on the Chronological Waiting List for Spring 2020 and Fall 2020.

I do not think that you are an alternate, because it does not specifically say in the message that you are. I think they put you on the chronological waitlist, which is different.

Congrats! Make sure you kill it in nursing school! I'm hoping Fall semester pans out! Fingers crossed!

I'm just going to accept Rio Hondo's offer since I can't really waste another semester & risking it all with Cypress. Does anyone know how hard it would be to transfer nursing programs? Since Cypress is a lot closer to me than Rio i'm thinking about switching over during the Fall semester if I do get admitted.

I was selected as an alternate for spring 2019 however my account got locked to accept the spot. It doesn't give me any information on how to unlock my account. Does anyone know the process to unlock the account?

I'm accepted into the program :) Good luck to others waiting to get in! I had a friend who wasn't even on the alternate's list, and they called her last minute to offer her a spot.
