CVS-NY missing request

Good day. I'm starting to get worried about my CVS-NY application. Its either CGFNS is sending the request to a wrong address, or things keep getting lost in the mail, or my school is not processing the transcript request from CGFNS, or somebody stole the money and the mail that CGFNS sent. Please keep me from being too paranoid. I sent my CVS application September 22, 2009. The request for license was received by Professional Regulation Commission here in the Philippines and was processed and the license was received by CGFNS a week ago. I called my school (both the registrar and the college) regarding the request for transcript by CGFNS and they told me that they have not received any request. I called CGFNS and they told me that they sent the request twice already. Nobody wants to help - I mean, CGFNS just says "we sent it. I cant tell you more information that that"; the school just says "we did not receive any request. sorry." What should I do?

If the last request is sent after a period of 6 months, and CGFNS did not receive anything from my school, what would they tell NY-BON?

Do correct me if Im wrong, but I feel disappointed about CGFNS service. I pay a large amount of money for the service, make sure every address every number every letter is correct in the application and when things get lost, all they could say is "we sent it. NO additional information. and you're not even supposed to be involved in this". but I SHOULD be involved in this, this is my money, my documents, my school, my license, my future. If they could just give me their word that theyd trace it (I mean they can trace the mail - tracking number, courier service, cheque number) prior to submitting their report to NY-BON, I could seat back and relax.

hello :) i see im not the only one experiencing this problems :( i applied for my CVS for NY State last year (November 4, 2009 to be exact) and received correspondece from CGFNS last december that they mailed my authorization letters to my school and PRC already). By chance, is there a way for us to interfere with the processing? (to speed it up...like go to PRC and to our schools to help them process our papers) because i'm getting worried already since i know that if the processing is not done in 180 days...they will cancel your request and you have to pay again :(

Do we really have to suffer if other people are just slow in doing their jobs? I really think that it's crazy for you to pay again and repeat the process just because it is taking it really slow for other people to process things and do their jobs :(

CGFNS will forward what ever documents they have received once the 6 moths are up to NY BON they will then make their decision regarding eligibility. You can discuss with your school re forms but there is no way to expediate stuff as CGFNS forms have to be used.

Hi I'm done with my CVS, What I did was I requested my respective school for my TOR, waited for a week and handed me the sealed enveloped addressed to CGFNS and mailed it personally to the school's post office. I tracked it through my account in CG website.

ohh i thought that that was not allowed (i mean if you personally mail the documents to them) :( sorry was confused, so i could go to my school and mail it myself? sorry was confused :crying2:

hi chokyali. i sent you a pm but i guess you cant still send a pm since you dont have 15 posts yet. anyway, i just want to know what agency did you apply to? since i am also looking for an agency for NY. thanks.

@Kristov..you are not allowed to mail your TOR to any other post office except from your school. You shouldn't do that otherwise CGFNS will not accept it.did you apply online...Because why i did is I filled up the Authorization for Academic Records then gave it to my school along with my request for a certified copy of TOR then after a week they gave me the sealed envelope and mailed it in my school's post office. There are schools who collect money for mailing. some school's procedure regarding this matter varies. You can download the application packet for CVS-NY because they have all the instructions there. Regards

hi chokyali.. i am also doing CVS right now but i only ordered the service last december so im still waiting now.. so im confused? did u mail your authorization forms to CGFNS for ur transcripts and license? can u tell me more about what u did that helped u make the process go faster? thanks!

you should fill up the authorization form and give it to your school and request for a certified copy of your TOR. Ask them how much you should pay for mailing. I did not have a problem with my school because they knew how to process matters like this. When I submitted my authorization form , the registrar personnel furnished me a form to fill-up. They told me to comeback after a week and that's it. You are not supposed to send your application, it's the school's responsibility. you do the same procedure when you were applying for your NCLEX or CG like requesting for TOR. Hope I did some help

im still confused.. i thought that with CVS-NY everything will be done by CGFNS.. all i have to do is send the authorization forms to them because they will be the one to contact my school and the licensing authority for the transcript and license validations..

Read the handbook on CVS and it should explain everything you have to do

i have read the handbook and i know that i have to send to cgfns the notarized application as well as authorization forms for the school and licensing authority.. and just wait for cgfns to do everything.. i was just confused about the other poster's experience where he/she said that s/he was done with cvs and did the request of tor from his/her school..

Ok, so as not to make things complicated, proceed with your application then wait for any reply from CGFNS. Why not give it a try. I did the same thing before, my agency in NY sent me th CVS application packet and advised me to send back the filled-up application forms to them. I was complacent that everything went well until after I think 1-2 months my agency adviced me to call the school if they already sent my TOR to CG. What I did is I fillep-up another Authorization for Acadaemic Records form but this time I send it directly to my school. The next e-mail I received is from NYSED informing me that my application is still incomplete because i need to take reporting for child abuse. So that means my CVS application is approved. I think i a made myself clear. Regards:nurse:

to xxjjccbb : sorry for not replying to your pms (i cannot send pms yet because i have few posts :( ) anyways...what i did was i filled in the authorization letters for the verification (for the tor and for the prc license) then sent it to cgfns (because that's what i understood when i read the handbook >_ ) what confuses me is because chokyali said that he/she paid the school, so does that mean we really have to go to our schools for them to process it? i thought that everything is between cgfns and our schools/prc

@chokyali: yes i applied online. ooh...so i have to send my school the authorization letter too? does that mean i have to print a new one again (the one i sent to cgfns)? then i'll just ask a form from school right? (sorry for the confusion)

really sorry for the confusion :( but i am really thankful for everyone's reply
