Curry ACCEL BSN program - Jan. 2014 start

Hello, everybody!

Today was the deadline to apply to Curry's Accelerated BSN program (Jan. 2014 start).

I've applied, and now all is left to do is chew on the finger nails and wait for the first week of May to roll around.

Is there anybody else here in the same boat? Check in and say hello!

Sorry you haven't had the news you were hoping for. Hang in there, Dave! Like I said above, Curry expects the non-refundable deposits by June 15. Anybody not sending his/her in by then is automatically taken off the list, I guess.

Nobody knows how many people are waitlisted, or what their individual rank on that list is, unfortunately. But one person from the current cohort was accepted off the waitlist just mere 2 weeks before the beginning of the semester this January.

Wait listed. Trying really hard to handle this news but just really disappointed. Does anyone know how many people they typically wait list every year?

I do not know how many are placed on the wait list but two of us in this year's cohort were taken off the wait list less than 2 weeks before the start of classes. I do not know if this played a role but I kept "in touch" and checked in with them to let them know how much I was interested if a spot became available. I also had one class still in progress (Chem) so as soon as it was complete, I sent along my updated transcripts. Best of luck to you!

Thanks Penny, I'll try to keep on top of that. I appreciate all your help.

Congrats Pavolga on getting accepted!!! And I am so sorry for those who did not make it in or is currently waitlisted. I can empathize with you that it is such a big heartbreak to not make it in or just plain waiting. I have already been rejected from several schools, but if this is what we all truly want to do...well eventually get there! So keep trying! =) I have yet to receive a letter from curry. Nothing today so I am hoping for something tomorrow!

Thanks, jaytphan! Good luck to you! Hope you receive the letter soon.

Nothing today...

I didnt receive a letter in the mail today so I gave curry a call and they said that I should have received it by now. The lady said she'll email me a copy and unfortunately I am also wait listed!!! :( This just brings me down. Any tips of what to do and how to deal???Congrats again to those who have made it in and to those who are still waiting...best of luck!

Welcome, nurs2015! Feel free to shoot me a private message if you need any help or have any questions about the area.

Congratulations to those that got in, but for those of us that are on the wait list I must say it's a bit frustrating to see that many people posting they are accepted (there is another thread that got started for accepted students) have not even completed all of their pre-reqs! Further it seems that some of the posts show a lack of healthcare experience or even a mastery of language. This is not to take away from those who did get in, but when you put your heart and soul into preparing for this and then read about others who seem extremely casual about the entire process (i.e. people posting in other threads that do not even have a plan for when/where they might take a remaining pre-req...umm, wasn't submitting a plan for completion a part of the application, how are you unsure of this and how did you get in???), it is pretty disheartening. I always imagined if I was put on the wait list it would be because everyone else had every pre-req completed, more clinical experience than I do, etc. It's too bad that's not the case. Again, not meaning to sound bitter or take away from those that did get in, just finding myself questioning everything I had read from previous threads about admissions versus what I am now reading from many of the newly accepted students.
