Current Maternity Nurses

Hi!

I'm hoping there might be a couple of nurses who currently work in OB, who live in California, who would be willing to share their ideas, likes, dislikes and current (rough idea) of their salaries. I am a student in the nursing field and will be giving a presentation soon on Maternity nursing and am having some difficulty in finding current information on this subject. Most of the materials are 2 or 3 years or older and I was hoping for more current information. I did post this question in both the student section and in Obstetrics, but I live here in California and will be practicing here when I graduate, so hearing from someone who also lives in California, will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    I'm not a maternity nurse, bust most nurses have the same similar wages in hospitals regardless of their specialty. ER,med surg, L & D usually pay the same or close to each other.

    The problem of your broad question is the state of California ranges significantly regionally, experience also makes a difference as well as if the nurse is regular staff or per diem. The short answer would be somewhere around 30$ and 100$ an hour would be an RNs wages.
