Hi @BREN_1599. Where did you get this point system from? I do not see it anywhere on CSULB website.

It is not on their website anymore! I got it from another thread regarding their point system.

This is how it is scored: (TEAS reading x 0.02) + (TEAS overall x 0.02) + (GE GPA/2) + (Science GPA)

I'm glad to see there's a forum for applicants for Spring 2021! ? Does anyone know how to access the nursing application and when we can apply?

It states on their website that the application is open from Aug 1st- Sept 21st! I have not been able to find the actual link for it though haha

Welcome @kweeto! The nursing application is supposed to be opened up today but it has not yet. Maybe it'll open up within the next few days.

Hey everyone! Also applying for Spring.

Stats:

Science: 4.0

General GPA: 3.46 ? Bad history.

TEAS Reading: 99.7%

TEAS overall: 88.7%

Total points: 9.462

VERY nervous. Does anyone know if they require letters of recommendation? I never really socialized with any professors and am just now realizing (at the end, LOL) that I might have needed to.

Hey @Artemesiac! I think you have a good chance of getting in for Spring! CSULB does not require any letters of recommendation so you'll be just fine haha.

I forgot to share my stats too. Here they are:

TEAS reading: 89.4

TEAS overall: 94.0

Overall GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0

Total pts: 9.668

Im currently a CSULB pre-nursing student. Is anyone also a current CSULB student or are you a transfer student? ?

@kweeto you have a great score, I def think you will get in! I am a CSULB pre-nursing student too haha

@iBeArsh Thank you! And that's a relief to hear, haha.

So I've been going through the allnurses thread for CSULB Fall 2020 to see who got in, and someone said this:

"Good Luck to you! Just FYI CSULB goes by Pre-Req GPA and Science Pre-Req GPA.... not cumulative GPA like CSULA does... LOL"

Anyone know if that's right?

@Artemesiac I think it goes by prereq GE GPA which is the stats class, oral comm, written comm, and critical thinking classes. So I think just those 4 classes are what they look at to calculate that GPA. The 4 science prereqs is what make up the science GPA. I hope that wasn't confusing LOL.

@iBeArsh Not confusing at all, I was hoping that was the case! That would turn my 3.46 into a 4.0! Where else is everyone applying?

@Artemesiac I think I will be applying to Sac state and that's it. It's kinda scary that I'm not applying to more schools so I'm hoping I get into csulb.
