CSULA's ABSN program Summer 2019

Hello there!

I would love to start a thread of those applying for CSULA's ABSN program for summer 2019. I was hoping we could give each other some support and hopefully get to know each other a bit before starting school! I'm a little worried as I hear that the program is super competitive and I don't have many volunteer hours or experience. Is this a deciding factor in the decision process?

I think we just need the AHA basic life support- that is what Dr. Hinoki asked about, to make sure it is AHA and not Red Cross.

So glad you got an interview for this program! I saw that you're on the boards for the MECN too. It's been radio silence for me at CSULA so far, but I've still got my fingers and toes crossed that there are more interview invitations to be sent out. Congrats to all of you who have already been interviewed!

Thank you for your kind words- and good luck to you as well! I haven't completely lost hope for MECN, but I'm actually leaning that much more to CSULA these days- starts and ends sooner, 40% reduction in tuition... I'd take what I can get, tbh.

Has anyone gotten an email about applying to csula yet?

I know it's a holiday, but check your emails! I just got the instructions this morning at 6:54am. Good luck everyone!!

Thanks yes got it!

Woman, thanks ?

Ok, so I applied over the weekend and now have an email from CSULA Admissions. It says it strongly suggests submitting transcripts to the admissions office ASAP- but I thought the reason we had to submit two sets in our nursing application due in January was so that one set went to admissions...? Or do we just send yet another set to admissions now? I'm running low on transcripts!

I contacted the PaGE program developer and she said to disregard emails about transcripts since Dr. Hinoki will hand deliver the second set of transcripts to Office of Admissions.

Thank you!! This puts my mind at ease. I really hate all the conflicting info... like we aren't stressed by this process already.

Hi everyone!

It's my first time posting as well & I also just had my interview not too long ago. I didn't have much previous clinical experience so, fingers-crossed, hope I still got in. Btw, did anyone obtain their CPR (BLS) Cert. and Fire Card together, as in on the same day?
