Csula nursing program fall 2009

Published

hi HAS ANYONE APPLIED TO GENERIC BSN PROGRAM AT CSULA?

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS THE AVERAGE GPA THEY LOOK FOR, AND DO PEOPLE WITH HIGHER TEAS TEST SCORE GET IN THEN THOSE HAVING HIGHER GRADES. I APPLIED FOR FALL 2009 AND SHOULD HEAR IN JUNE I SUPPOSE BUT IJUST WAN TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE THEY ACCEPT AS IN THEIR GRADES AND TEST SCORES.

Hi!

I applied for fall '09. Did you get a letter yet? I got my letter yesterday...I don't believe it b/c I was anticipating for a June/July reply.

wow congrats no i havent gotten any letters im scared:(

what was your gpa

and teas score

just to see if i compare

thanks :specs: Don't worry your letter is probably on its way. My pre-req gpa was 3.57, overall 3.64, teas was 92% (rdg 95/ eng 89/1). I tallied my points and it was 23/31. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!!!

I applied for the fall of 09!! I'm soooo nervous! I recieved a letter about 3 weeks ago saying I was rejected because I didn't submit my ATI scores which I had mailed to the school in like JANUARY! So I called and she told me to resend my scores and now I am waiting once again. I'm so scared!!! I wonder if anyone else has recieved an acceptance letter. Do any of you already attend CSULA??

OH MY!! I'm glad you were able to sort things out with them. I don't go to CSULA...just applied...I have to turn in a deposit for Fall. I believe the deadline for the deposit is on the 15th and the letter said we had to accept by the 13th. So hopefully you'll know soon :)

I know!!! I hate that whole $100 deposit! If I don't get accepted to the nursing program, I will lose the $100. Do you know anyone else who also got accepted? What did your letter look like? did it come in a thick or big envelope?

Can you tell I'm anxious to know already???? I have a pre-req GPA of 3.3 and overall GPA of 3.2 and my ATI score was an 87%. I'm thinking my chances are a little low but I'm still crossing my fingers!

well i go to csula and i havent gotten any letters yet im crossing my fingers too. Were pretty much on the same boat. My prereq. gpa is a 3.33 and my overall gpA is a 3.45. My teas score was an 84 but english i scored 91 percentalie rank and reading 79 percentile rank for total 18/31 we will see if that is enough. But the girl above already got in and she has a 23/31 which is really good im scared!!!! we will see what happens hopefully we both get in. :)

OMG. I know, it's all I can think about!! I wonder if her scores are the average or highest form the people who are chosen. I hope to atleast be chosen as an alternate, in case someone decides not to go. haha Do you know how many people are accepted? And they choose two groups for both fall and Spring semesters right? I'm a little confused on how the Reading and English points are decided. From what category do they decide on? Is it under the Adjusted Individual Score or the Percentile Rank Category? Please help!

im pretty sure she is among the highest because she got accepted already when acceptances letters are suppose to go out in june. But at the same time there can be alot of people like her and then our chances would be slim. Well at csula they accept 40 people for fall quarter 2009 which starts in september and 50 for spring quarter 2010 which starts in late march or early april. As for the teas score what they count is the percentile rank so look at the numbers under that column. They just want the percentile rank for english and reading only. The scale is as follows:

40 -49 --------0 pts

50 -59 --------1 pts

60 -69 ---------2 pts

70-79 ----------3 pts

80-89 ----------4 pts

90 -99 ----------5 pts

100 -------------6 pts

The total points you can get is 12 lets say you scored 100 percentile rank on both english and reading thats 6+6=12 maximum points. Also you cant have lower than 40 percentile rank in any section or you are immediately disqualified. Hope this helps. :)

Thank you!! I agree with you, she might have been one of the highest.....it makes sense. They send out the letters for the highest scoring people and then decide from whoever accepts their invatation on how many more people they can accept. IDK. I also applied to CSUF but I think my chances of getting accepted there are even lower. AND I applied to CSU Channel Islands but got rejected because my Chemistry class wasn't sufficient!! But whatever.....all I could do is to keep trying. Did you apply to any other schools? What about any Community Colleges? I'm debating on whether I should even apply to Community colleges or keep trying at the Universities.

I don't really know a lot of people who applied. The letter came in the envelope that I put in with my application. It was small. Just two sheets...the letter and the form to accept the spot. Waiting really sucks...I'm actually still waiting on two other schools. I hate how you have declare the intent to register and give a deposit, but its better to be safe so yeah.

Honestly, i didn't think my points were good enough. I just wanted to try state before I tried private and out of state schools. I applied to CSUCI but I didn't get in. Community Colleges are pretty difficult if they're lottery (700+ applicants). A lot of people say private schools are the fastest way in, but that's too costly for me.
