CSN Spring 2011 RN Program

Good Afternoon All!

I thought it was about time to begin a thread for those applying for entry into the Spring 2011 RN Program at CSN. My big question is: Will you be applying to the full-time or part-time program and with how many points? It might also be nice to get to know some of our (hopefully) future classmates! I am applying to the Full-Time program with 29 points. Will that be enough? I sure hope so!

Good luck to everyone and I look forward to reading your replies!

Hello everyone! I have a paper to write about nursing and I'm sure you're busy as well but if you'd be kind enough to spare a few minutes of your busy schedule and answer a few questions, I would really appreciate your help. If you are a 1st/ 2nd/ 3rd/ 4th semester nursing student, please answer the following questions:

1. What are the personal characteristics needed by a nurse?

2. What are the responsibilities of a nurse and what are the constraints/ restrictions?

3. What are the educational requirements of a nurse?

4. What would the world be like without nurses?

5. What are some misconceptions about nurses?

Please let me know which semester you're in as well. Thank you!!! :)

I would direct this to a major section of this website as this is not the thread to do this in. Questions like #3 should be some pretty easy research for someone to do. I would also make some specific questions instead of those. Ask about a specific misconception that you know of. You will get great answers.

Last post here was Jan 2011. It is now almost March 2012. Deadline to apply is March 1 for the Fall semester of 2012. My financial situation just went downhill when my husband lost his job end of November. We are completely behind on mortgage and bills. So I got a ft job with a really good company here in NV "United Health Group." It is also a place where I can be employed as a Nurse. Now that I am going to apply to the program, I'm wondering if I can still do the fast track program and work full-time or would that be suicide. Is it even possible with the part-time program to keep a full time job? (M-F 8 -5) and I have 2 kids on top of that... I don't want to quit my job just after 6 or 7 months and burn my bridges.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks! MA
