I applied today! I applied last semester too, but because of the massive amount of applications, I was denied. Crossing my fingers for FALL!!!! Has anybody else applied?

I talked to, crud, I forgot her name, the dark haired lady? She said as long as they last till Dec 23. I'll have to get a TB test because it expires the 12th! Everything else I can have redone in Jan!

I have a meeting with National University on Monday....Anyone have any opinions or suggestions. I like the fact that they go all the way up to a masters. I'm just concerned that they will be around long enough for me to get there!!! I did that math last night at it costs around $19000 to get an associates which is alittle higher than CSN. Thanks for your help!!!

I, personally, am really weary of for profit schools like that. They are ridiculously expensive and you can't be sure if the credits will transfer. Also I feel like most of their nursing programs are not very well-established and you can't be sure of the type of education you will receive. I visited a few private universities before I applied for nursing at CSN and they all seemed "shady" to me for some reason. I don't know, it could just be me.

You can always do an RN-BSN and BSN-MSN at various other schools. NSC has an RN-BSN program (I am going to do this if we stay in LV after I graduate from CSN) and I think most major universities (i.e. UNLV) offer graduate degree programs for nurses.

Even so, everyone is different. You owe it to yourself to at least make an appointment and check it out. You may like it. I hate that I wasted $100 on the "application fee" at USN but I am glad that I was able to determine that it wasn't for me and rule it out. Good luck!

Im 31 and i have been rejected by CSN twice....I am still planning on retaking the TEAS and reapplying in September....I just hate feeling like my chances are slipping away. I still don't know why I didn't get in but I'm sure I will know soon. I had 27 points. Trying to keep optimistic:)

Letters are in the mail today!!!!!!

I got in as an alternate though I do not know how it works. Go to orientation, many, many alternates do get in~

You are probably calculating your GPA incorrectly and the point requirement has probably gone up from 27 points. The alternates that had 26 or 27- maybe they have medical experience? Do you? SO many reasons, you should go in and talk to the LE office lady, she is super nice. Always keep your options open! Check out Nevada State University.

My letter said I meet all the requirements which probably means my points were to low....so I guess I will be studying this summer to retake the TEAS....heard the new version is interesting!!!

Is anyone else considering taking out a student loan for the program, or have any info that might be helpful?

Fill out a fafsa, and contact financial aid. Financial aid should also be at the orientation and explain to you that there is an extra form to fill out stating that you have extra expenses as a nursing student. This will help you get extra.

Is anyone considering the on line lecture for the first semester for nurs 101 and 125?? I see they are offering more on line classes. Any thoughts for anyone who already took the on line class??

A couple of my friends took online pharm and said they didn't like it. It's different for everyone though.
