CRNA profiles

I've seen similar posts on other feeds but was just hoping I could start one here. What I'd like to know is what was your starting and ending RN salary, how many years you worked as an RN and what your entry CRNA salary. Then because we all know area matters just put the general area or state you work in and whether or not you work for a hospital.

It it will be good to have info all laid out for prospective students like me... Be as vague or specific as you like I know some people can be sensitive about personal info.

There are studies published by the AANA on this subject. You can look through their website, and try to find them. I will try to look later for the studies, but here is what I know off the top of my head.

The average age of CRNAs is approximately 47.

The average total salary for CRNAs is 170K. The bottom 10% of CRNA salaries is 130K, which is around what you should expect as a new grad CRNA.

The average number of years of experience for SRNAs is 3-5years.

The problem with trying to do a survey on here about CRNAs is that there are actually very few SRNAs and CRNAs on here versus 46K or so CRNAs that approached and surveyed on this subject every year.

http://www.aana.com/myaana/AANABusiness/professionalresources/aana-marketplace/Documents/2014compensation-benefits-report.pdf I am not sure if you will be able to open this, but this is the 2014 annual report on CRNA compensation and salaries.

Thanks! I was inspired by the NP forum on here... I've done research just wanted a little more realistic stats :)

What is posted by the AANA is very accurate. New grad pay ranges 90 to 120000, depending on market saturation. Top out pay is 180000. Independent practice can take you to 250000. But that is an all crna practice with ALOT of hours.

What about years of being a nurse before going to school

What about years of being a nurse before going to school

I have never heard of it having any bearing on new grad CRNA pay.

I am part owner in an anesthesia group. Here, pay is not determined by years of RN experience. Our CRNA's make great money, not only with a starting salary of $160,000 but also because they have a very friendly schedule which allows them to work at surgery centers in the area and to also work OT. Our average CRNA makes > $200,000 a year with one topping out at $260,000.
