in response to wdwpixie's question, i had classes myself yesterday, plus two doctor's appointments, so i was on the go! i'm just answering questions this morning where i see people really needed the help or i have something more to add! so, in that spirit, justbreathe, here are some links for you:
http://www.glendale.edu/new/services/counseling/tests.htm - strategies for test taking from glendale community college. note, especially, the section on solving problems which is what most nursing exam questions are often asking of you. other information at this site (click on the links at the left side of the page) are time management, note taking, study skills, writing skills, relaxation techniques, building self-esteem and relating to instructors.
http://www.learningext.com/students/qofweek.asp - question of the week. every monday a question from the online nclex-rn examination course from ncsbn and it's answer and critical thinking is posted here on this page. this is from the folks who write the nclex exam. problem is they only post one question a week, so you need to check the site weekly for each new question. i would recommend you do this every week and start a notebook of these questions.
http://www.my-nclex-site.com/ - deb''s nclex site. has advice for studying and taking the nclex exam, 20 practice questions, 40 information questions, and a link to flashcard secrets which are commercially produced flash cards for nclex study. all of the questions on this site are links to the same question links that are on the nclexinfo.com website.
I found this book to be very helpful in wrapping my mind around critical thinking. Useful to adapt to nursing school and exam questions as well as real life clinical situations.

Daytonite: I certainly didn't mean to infer that you were being negligent, I just knew that if there was anyone out there with sites to suggest, it'd be you!! I don't know how you do it or how you have TIME to do it, but you're definately a wealth of information and invaluable to many of us!!
Being in my first semester, I'll be trying to bookmark all of your wonderful suggestions!! Thank goodness my college is offering a class in Successful Test Taking for Nurses as a CE class -- for FREE!! I'm going to take advantage of as many of these as I can!!
Thank you once again!

Hey all!!
I've recently started nursing school (and desperately trying not to lose my mind), and I'm looking for some suggestions on ways that I can practice my critical thinking skills for my exams. Can anyone tell me some good websites that have a variety of critical thinking questions. You know, patient scenario type questions asking you what is the best protocol to follow, things of that nature. I would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions given.
Thanks in advance for your help:nurse:
